In the Luannverse, the most notorious pusher is Betty Crocker.

Dez, Piro, Hair, Tiffany, and the other party animals sure can’t take Bernice seriously nor the rules of an RA.

Let’s see… not one but two pot brownies should keep her stoned out of her mind for about… let’s say… oh… 14 hours. What a long, strange trip it’s going to be.

Bern’s dorm seemed to get by just fine without any apparent RA last year, so why is she so worried about the rules now?

I think it’d be funny if there’s nothing in those brownies but flour, butter, sugar, chocolate, and leavening, but her imagination psychosomatically blasted her—it has happened before. And if it’s actually something illegal in most states, well, Luann bailing Bernice out of jail would cut the snark way back.

Evans has frequently nudged the boundaries of the family comic. Brownies “with” is strongly suggested. Maybe the party will be going full blast – then in the last frame we see Berneice by herself at the golden arches ordering her second McFlurry.

Bernice, Bernice, this is rapidly out-of-control and I strongly suspect those brownies will totally addle her innocent, naive head. I am not sure where this arc will lead, perhaps its meant to be typical of college (I was mostly a computer student, but I had my share of parties) but if she can keep that RA position after this that will be amazing.

Why do I think the more brownies she eats, the hungrier she’ll get?

Bernice is going to get kicked out of college as a result of this stoner party that is happening on her watch. She will, eventually, fall into Gunther’s arms for consolation and support as her life begins to unravel.

It would be funny if Bernice starts getting fat from the stress of being an RA. Have another brownie and if it’s the special kind, she’ll REALLY get a case of the munchies.

I was the RA. First rule: never sample the brownies.

These brownies are straight from the mix box. Bernice will think they are laced with something, so she’ll have an excuse to act giddy and have a good time. This is a strip where you drink even half a bottle of beer only by accident, and it totally wastes you.

As all these new kids are piling in to the room, I realize that I don’t like any of them.

Never had any enhanced brownies— and believe it or not, I’m glad I said “No thanks”.

I think Bernice will just end up on the couch (horizontal) while the party rages on around her.

This may be Bern’s first day as RA but it may also be her last in that position.

Looks to me like Dez cares more about her party than she does about her roomie. Bern could get in real trouble because of this.

I think the issue at hand is really, nothing ever bad happens to the charachters. TJ had his food truck blow up after complaining about it and got a nice check afterwords. Quill came back to Luann, etc etc. I think Bernice getting a slap on the wrist for special brownies would be great but as usual nothing will happen.

I was really hoping this set of characters had moved out of the dorm, and we would get to meet a more interesting crew this year. Creating new characters is not Greg Evans’ forte, however, so we shall have to put up with this bunch for a while longer. Last year they went away in mid-October and were never seen again until now, so at least they won’t stay around for much more than another month.

If Bernice does get stoned, that might be funny. Who knows what the Evanses think “being stoned” is actually like.

IF that brownie is an “edible,” Dez is not being a friend to Bernice. First of all, she should advise Bernice that it is an edible, after all, not everyone wants to get high. That’s like forcing it on someone and I’m sure Bernice would never choose to get high. Second of all, to offer her another one is extremely irresponsible; with today’s potency, even a half or less of an edible is more than enough, especially for the first time.

I don’t know what’s going to happen, but I do predict that Dez’s brownies will turn out to be just really tasty food and not contain any illegal drugs.

Off subject. Condolences to the family and friends of Martin Milner – Route 66 and Adam 12 from back whenTV was worth watching. Loved watching those showswhen I was growing up. Thanks for the memories!

Bern’s reaction to the (purely Betty Crocker) brownies is just a placebo effect because she thinks she’s stoned.

So far, all he’s brought has been his boozy old self…

One Christmas, for the holiday snack table, a co-worker brought brownies. My husband ate one, then another, exclaiming they were the best ever. After an hour or two, he got REALLY hungry. Kept eating, got home from work, ate more and was wound up for two days!!
