Unlike some posters here, I enjoy arcs with Luann in them. But I did hope to see how the Ann Awful party issue was resolved, especially since her ‘brother’ is now involved. Could be month before we get back to that.
The arc we’ve been following has so far taken place entirely at the Fuse. The above Luann/Fay moment is taking place at the Fuse. It would not surprise me if the twain should meet. And we also hope it wouldn’t be a twain wreck. Which reminds me. Did you know that Mark Twain’s sister invented the modern ballet dress? So of course her nickname was ____ _____.
Reminds me of my attempt to deal with shyness when I was graduating from high school. I went and took, at my OWN expense, a Dale Carnegie course, and it was one of the best investments ever made. I became a trial lawyer later, and I attribute my success in that field to that decision. I know that Luann will really help Fay. Meanwhile the other Fuse arc will ripen and develop. So be patient.
I too was a bit disappointed the ‘Ann’ story didn’t continue. But they are still at The Fuze, Luann does know Ann, and there is a strong possibility there will be an intersection of players later that will bring about some interesting developments.
Interesting change of focus back to Luann and Fay. Probably a short, temporary “cliff-hanger” for a few days in regards to Ann and Les.
Now… unfortunately I was not here during the long weekend (Friday – Sunday). I guess it really was not that “unfortunate” as I was out having fun with my wife and family. But…. boy did I miss a few significant changes on Friday and Saturday!
First… I must give AMPLE prognostication kudos to Schrodinger’s Dog! He is far better than I am in figuring things out. I was utterly wrong in thinking Ann could not possibly be REALLY Les’s mother, and also very wrong in that I thought that Ann did not know Uncle Al Gray….. she is his sister. I certainly do owe Schrodinger’s Dog a pouch of Borkum Riff. He will have to help me figure out how to get it to him.
Now, to the questions I still have:
1. What on Earth is going through Ann and Les’s mind?!? I still believe BOTH of them are in cahoots together in whatever this scheme is (Les is not, IMO, being duped by his mother). How can either of them think they can get away with whatever this is without Al Gray catching wind of this scheme?
2. Could this whole scheme be SPECIFICALLY to “get back” at Al Gray for some resentments Ann and Les apparently have towards him? This seems to be the most logical thing I can think of where Ann and Les will want him to know the goings on.
3. If #2 above is true… then whatever else happens, TJ, the DeGroots, Shannon, Fay, and whomever else is there may all be collateral damage. But, since the nefarious deed is set late at night, probably the consequences to the collateral folks would be monetary…. so mostly the DeGroots.
I suspect that this scam will going on after closing. But someone will drive by and find the lights still on and cars parked. All of them very expensive cars too.
Interesting idea here….. did anyone notice how in the first frame today, there is a microphone showing up on stage? Perhaps what Greg has in store for us this week is that Luann will be guiding Fay into overcoming her shy, quiet demeanor by having her do some sort of public speaking on stage? Maybe even better…. perhaps she will encourage Fay to sing? Wouldn’t it fun if when push-comes-to-shove… if Fay has a mellifluous voice that causes everyone at The Fuse to take notice?
I am wondering if these two Fuse-related story lines (Fay-Luann and Ann Eiffel) are going to collide somehow. I thought it was strange that on Sat Mr. Gray seemed so accepting of Les’s explanation; surely he must know his sister a little better than that. Therefore, what ever Eiffel is planning is not going to be nipped in the bud. It will play out and be observed by someone.
Luann will be a great mentor. One time in high school she played Maria. Also, she’s really good at…uh…things like… Well if there’s a closet, she will definitely try on costumes.
I said it earlier today that Luann and Fay are dullsville. Fay seems like a cute girl but the arc is dull. Even Luann’s clothes are dull – she’s t-shirt and jeans girl. Everything about Luann is dull. I know many in here adore her because she is so average and relatable. Because the people in their lives are more like Bernice, Gunther, Crystal, Toni, Brad, even TJ and Ann?? Les, too? So they gravitate to Luann seeking normalcy and average? Too much excitement in their lives? Which means I need excitement in MINE. I am excitement seeker because my life is pretty boring like Luann.

IT’S A GREAT LESSON FOR HER TO LEARN NOT TO FADE AWAY, because she’s never going to get any…

I didn’t expect this. I thought last week’s arc would continue, since it was in high gear.
Of course we’ll be back to it, but when?

Luann is exactly right! One of the first things Fay needs to learn is to have confidence in herself!

From yesterday:
@Kenhense: Looking forward to Ann’s event tonight. It would be sadistic for Greg to leave the arc st this point.
He’s sadistic!

Greg and his cliffhangers. He likes to begin a new arch following a high point of the previous arc. Luann and Fay? Dullsville.

Dramatic speaking technique. I remember my old drama teacher would hound us about not dropping off the sound at the end of sentences.

Never fade away. That’s what AM and Shortwave radio stations do. I should know, I’m also A Radio Hobbyist. Been doing it since the early ’70’s.
