As empty as that place is, they should sneak down to a lower level where they can be closer. Then, if the rightful seat owner comes, they can always move up a little.

Nosebleed section – the cheapest tickets. True for any professional sports. At least the pro games have television screens for each side. Monster Truck arena does not. So the nosebleed section ticket is not really worth anything – you’d need a binocular to see what is happening all way down in the arena. The noises are diffused in that altitude. They are not usually televised live or recorded for later showing. That might explain the sporadic attendance.

You really have to admire Jack, here. He’s out with two rather attractive young women, but he’s not ACTING like he’s out with very attractive young women. Heck, he appears as though he’s more interested in the show than THEM. Maybe that’s the secret. “Play it Cool.” That’s a far Cry from the “Jack” We first meet, who to Me, came across as a bit of a “skirt chaser.”

And yet, he has evolved into a likable guy that’s quite comfortable around the opposite sex, and is a real gentleman to boot. And the ladies seem to WANT to be around him. The only person missing here would be Tiffany, who normally, wouldn’t be caught dead at a monster truck show, but probably JUMP at the chance if Jack asked her.

Whatever Jack is using, he needs to bottle it up an sell it. And Gunther need to buy it, “IV” it, and “Mainline” it…….,

Jack probably got these tickets from the first prompt that came up on line. The screen said, “Only six tickets left – BUY NOW!”

It’s so funny Jack has the ear plugs so he talks louder to hear himself. I have been guilty of that, but neither Luann or Tara have them, or if they have bought some, they have not put them in yet. I agree MD though, he has the gentleman thing down for a young millennial or possibly a post-millennial (19 or under, although there is a little argument when post-millennials start, and millennials become old, like the rest of us (lol).

I’ve never heard of a Monster Truck event that was so sold out that the general admission seats (and that’s where they are) were sold by aisle and number.

Hmm. Either our trio is VERY EARLY to this event…. or it is not particularly successful in selling out the venue…. so many empty seats.

    Other thoughts:

    1. Buying cheap seats is understandable economically. But, when I do so, I also typically bring a pair of simple and small binoculars to be able to glimpse some of the finer details close up occasionally. Just seeing this occasional closer view helps a lot, I find.

    2. With the few number of folks there at the moment, the trio may be able to “sneak” down to closer seats as the event unfolds.

Today’s effort seems more of the “wind up” to the actual pitch of the story…. not a lot of advancement yet…. but it still has the feel of leading somewhere…. hopefully very interestingly too.

Meanwhile, I’m still collecting canned goods for the trip to Panama City that some local volunteers are taking this coming Saturday, and I read an interesting story in our online Orlando Sentinel by a reporter who joins other volunteers to help out at disaster sites. He is just a volunteer, as are the others in his group (one is an accountant, one is a clerk, one stocks grocery shelves). None have disaster training. But at each disaster, as they show up with their chainsaws and willingness to haul away the trees that have smashed homes and power lines, the exhausted people are happy to see them. The reporter quoted one woman as saying something like ‘look at all the license plates from other states! All those people came here to help us!" And the reporter even pointed out that one person who had an undamaged home opened it up to volunteers so they wouldn’t have to stay in a tent, and shared his food with them.

I couldn’t help but think of all the posters here who vilified Rosa for wanting to help people even though she didn’t have specialized training, and who insisted that she would be just a burden to them. The people of Panama city would seem to say otherwise…

I asked my daughter if she’d seen my newspaper. She told me that newspapers are old school. She said that people use tablets nowadays and handed me her iPad.

That fly didn’t stand a chance.

Never seen a Monster Truck event or a tractor pull. I have seen the Indy cars and when I was a kid, I’d go with my dad to see rebuilt stock cars on a quarter mile dirt track. Loud and dirty and very competitive. A good “me and dad” memory.
