As Dwayne’s character used to say, “you’re welcome.” (I’ve not even seen the movie myself.)

Doesn’t say much but it says a lot.

Okay, now WAIT just a darn minute. Yesterday Luann was talking loudly on the phone within earshot of her loving parents who were trying to read/relax on the couch. Today she’s ignoring her Roomie/Gal Pal, Pru and texting instead of watching “Moana.”

I know this will upset our resident “Luann Booster,” but what our young heroine has been doing the last couple of days is just plain rude. Hey, Lu? You might want to give your friend Pru some attention, since she was the first to comfort you when you WISELY broke up with Q-Ball awhile back……., ;)

PS: The “Croods,” was a much BETTER film than “Moana,” IMHO.

When was the last time we saw Delta?

Pru! Good to see you again! And, gah, Luann. You’re one of those whose eyes are stuck on their smartphones, missing LIFE! I see families at tables in restaurants with their eyes on their phones, not talking to each other. One of the downsides of the invention of smartphones.

I’m glad to see Luann and Pru.

Good move, Pru, but you’ll need a cattle prod to get Luann’s attention.

Good for Pru. We’ve instituted a rule in our family when we have a family movie that the only personal electronic devices allowed are cell phones in case work calls needing help.

Wonder who Luann is texting, and I have hopes it might be news about Delta. Whatever, I don’t think this is a rant arc on cell phones and texting, just a plot device. Hmmm?

Luann is like any typical modern urban teenager. Sad part is, I see forty-year-olds doing pretty much the same thing!

Luann is becoming useless in her own comic strip.

Haven’t seen Pru in awhile – nice touch on texting Luann – I find it annoying to be spending time with someone and they spend the entire time texting

Last week Tiff was getting educated by Borenice, this week it is Luann’s turn to get educated by Pru(ne). Who will learn first?

Will we ever get to see Pru without her black makeup on? Or is it tattooed permanently?

Wow, acknowledgement that Pru actually lives in the DeGroot home. She has seemed to be as invisible there as Quill eventually became in the Berger residence. Now do you suppose the writers will finally think of some purpose for the character? After the performance of her play that served to open the Fuse, instead of sending her back to NYC, they added her to the cast, so they must have had something in mind. However, other than the “big reveal” that she wasn’t a romantic rival for Quill’s affections after all, we really haven’t seen it yet. She organized the flop drama camp that introduced Fay to the strip, but that could have been done without her, and anyone could have booked Ann Eiffel’s lingerie parties at the Fuse.

Is that what the girls are calling it now?

This says a lot about today’s generation.

I know I left an original comment, but I can’t find it. ARRRGHH!! Let me say briefly what I said: I wonder who Luann is texting on the phone with such intent. I don’t agree that she is shown as being rude, she is not a symbol of generational rudeness, in spite of what the fuddy duddies on this comment blog like to say, rather, I think she is getting a message that may be leading to further—hilarity ensues—events.

After so many drama laden episodes within drama laden arcs, this attempt at a gag strip fell flat, of course. It makes one wonder if this isn’t the opening move of yet another drama series to be played out this week.

I wonder what kind of drama-laden arc G&C could come up with involving Pru and Lu? The last one was a “drama camp,” the failure of which Pru took pretty well.

I hate when people do that. I had a friend who would ask to come over or ask to meet up somewhere for lunch. I would clear my schedule and tell others that I would be busy. My friend and I would meet up and she would spend the entire time responding to text messages from other people, or updating social media. I stopped clearing my schedule, and limited my time with her to preserve my sanity.

I’m just grateful for the break from the petty Tif/Ann story line…

I know many people addicted to their phones and tablets.

Why not just say, “That’s very rude”? Because it is.

The message is “You’re not as important to me as what’s going on in my phone. You lose.”

By the way, why is Pru still living there? I would have thought that by now she’d at least have enough for her own studio apartment somewhere.

Luann is being Rude to her friend, Pru. Which got Me to thinking, has Luann ever done this, staring at an electronic device, While ignoring her other friends, like Bernice, or Delta? If she has, I don’t recall it. I don’t believe Lu has ever done this to Tara, either and certainly not to Jack, except to call him to rescue her from that “party,” last year. I can’t even remember Luann doing that to Gunther, although she’s been adept at IGNORING Gunther LONG before Smartphones were invented.

So it begs the question: How much of a “friend” does Luann consider Pru?

Maybe if they were watching a rom-com….she would pay more attention?

My favorite comic, Sunshine State, comes out only once a week, Monday.

Of late, it seems that I can get all the Luann I can stand by checking in once a week. Though, I admit, sometimes I’ll check in Saturday to see how the week came out. This week, not so sure.

Maybe I’ll just come back next week, on Monday.

This almost could be a Sunday strip. Goes nowhere – just a gag strip.

The Sunday comic and today’s effort are both sadly funny because of the poor phone usage etiquette. I really liked both Frank’s response yesterday and Prudence’s response today. I am especially enamored with Pru’s response today…. a perfect way to get her point across!!!! Too many folks are becoming virtually a cyborg with their electronic doo-dads.

Addicted to her phone. I have actually seen HS boy and girl walking together, not talking, just texting until girl laughed and told boy, Thats funny-so they were texting each other

Multitasking myths.

If she is texting a character in a different comic strip that only runs online does it still use ink?

Luann is feeling constant urgency in contacting her peers. To me, this signals it’s time for Luann to think about moving on her own somewhere.

Hooray! An arch with Pru! I hope that the sisterhood with Luann will come out of this movie night stronger than ever!

I don’t blame Prudence for being pissed. Luann is being rude in texting someone while Pru is trying to get her attention. Netiquette rule: when you’re in someone’s physical presence, put away the phone and focus on the person who’s there with you..

By my recollection, I think this is the VERY FIRST time I’ve seen Prudence with an frown / unpleasant expression on her face … Anyone else?

He made Delta “perfect” and now she is written out. He did it himself and he can bring her back if he wanted.

this is a lead in to something; hard to tell what. Pru will ask Luann about some aspect of her work or school or maybe who it is she’s texting…. the look on Pru’s face suggests Luann may get a lecture.

put the phone down and work into tomorrow’s gag

tomorrow: Pru gets a text she has to reply to off-screen.

Every day, in every way, I’’m happier and happier not having a smartphone. Smartphones , dumb people….
