That looks just like my brother. He’ll procrastinate starting a project until after the deadline and then go " Oh well, it wasn’t meant to be "

I see today’s comic is a re-run – a different drawing but the same message. I gave the comic to my construction group five to ten years ago.

In oldest version of the flood we know, story of Atra-Hasis (later borrowed for Gilgamesh), flood was (literally) an over-kill idea of curing overpopulation. Fortunately the gods decide to keep things more in control in their future attempts to limit human reproduction – see Covid-19.

From this and a few of his previous strips I would say that Wiley had a very bad experience with a contractor.

I did also. Remodeled the kitchen of our old house in 2012. We lived with a “temporary” kitchen for several months. Even tho all the new cabinets had arrived(we had to pay extra for plywood sides and backs as everyone was using pressed wood) Once we had everything, it still took several months to get everything installed.

Had the same problem with Sears-this was after the company was sold, last appliance we ever bought from them-when it came time to install our new dish washer, the person who had gotten the contract had no idea how to install it. fought with Sears until they refunded the installation fee(which took a couple of months)then hired a master plumber to finally install it. (which took him all of 30 min)

LOL. . .Noh could have saved himself a lot of time and trouble just picking out an amoeba or two, and some of the other “first” life forms. Much smaller boat, and after the flood they could just have evolved. . .also keeping the ark clean would have been much easier. . .i mean, if you’re going to go anachronistic, ya gotta go whole hog. . .

He’s also splitting his time working on two other arks. For some reason, there was a sudden shortage on ark parts.

Not really an accurate characterization of the rain by the contractor, is it? Now that I think of it, I don’t recall that the myth mentions Noah having a contractor . . .

    1. Must be a union contractor.

    2. possible bases for the Flood:

    a. End of Ice Age melting flooded lowlands around the Mediterranean where many neolithic settlements were.

Ice Age melt and resultant Mediterranean Sea rising, causing overflow or break in a landmass around the Sea of Marmara thereby flooding the lowlands around the Black Sea and the settlements there.

    c. The gods were drinking too much beer and couldn’t hold it. (I’d say coffee but that hadn’t been discovered back then.)

This is why the Unicorns and Dinosaurs got left behind, the Contractor cut a Lot of corners and the boat came out only 10% of the contracted size.

On the other hand, Noah needed to feed those Lions SOMETHING.
