Two years ago; We lost house keys with name tag. Hmm maybe at the mall or on a walk to the store. We check lost/found. Nope. We walk sidewalks. No keys. I get a quote to rekey locks. $1,500. WOW! I buy a kit, change pins and keys. $60. Spring time, we find the keys in garden while preparing soil for the potato patch. Key rings now have AirTags.
My wife has several purses. Gotta match the rest of the outfit you know. She spends a lot of time moving things from one to another and sometimes something doesnāt make the move so every purse has to be searched.
Thatās why my keys are on a carabiner, clipped to my belt or the strap on my purse/knapsack. Many purses these days have a ring to clip keys to, or even a built-in clip for your keyring so the keys stay up by the zipper where you can get to them easily.
First thing I thought of with this was Paul Petersonās song, Jeff on The Donna Reed Show (1962). Had to say it!
She Canāt Find Her Keys
When I take my baby home at nightI canāt wait to kiss and holdā herā tightBut right then,ā the time begins to dragWhen sheā starts searchinā through her bag
[Pre-Chorus]She says, āJust a moment, pleaseāāIācanātāfindāmy keysāAnd hereāsāwhat happens whileāheās waitinā for her squeeze
[Chorus]She pulls outLipstick, powder, bubble gum and bobby pinsBut she canāt find her keys (Her keys)Curlers, tweezers, cold cream and candy barsBut she canāt find her keys (Her keys)Nail files, school books, an autograph of FabianShe can find with easeBut Iām standinā here (Yeah, yeah) waitinā for a goodnight kiss (Yeah, yeah)āCause she canāt find her keys (Yeah, yeah)

It is getting more and more rare to see women with purses anymore.

My wife carries a small backpack. I always tell go down the right side to the bottom and turn left. She always finds what sheās looking for.

Sometimes itās not found until/unless the whole purse is emptied.
Often itās quickest to just dump the entire contents out.

Sometimes I have to look in the same place twice. Somehow missed it the first time. Go figure. (sigh)

Oh, duh! Everybody knows the gravity is stronger at the bottom of a purse.

Keys are small and dense, so they will always make their way to the bottom of whatever you carry them in.
