Hey, I am way above average!

Even though the US and GB are friends now, I’m surprised they would allow a statue of George Washington.

John, did you ever figure out what caused that? My time limit with extended family is closer to 3.45 nanoseconds.

Most of my remaining “extended family” are scattered all over the country and I would be happy to see them for more than 3 hours and 45 minutes.

It takes extended family just 12 minutes to get sick of the average American.

Norm McDonald tells about the time that he and his wife were driving in a car, and they passed a pig farm. Norm asks her, “Don’t those fat pigs remind you of some of your family members?” His wife replies, “Yeah, they remind me of my in-laws!”

A more interesting fact about John Tyler: despite being born in 1790, he has a living grandchild. Sounds impossible, but look up Harrison Ruffin Tyler.

Not unless you invited a single guy and you have attractive women in your family.

I never see my extended family.

I loved my kids’ dad’s family! Hosted all the family get togethers, took care of my MIL when she was bedridden from cancer until her death three years later. When my husband left, my FIL kept me as his daughter. Still love them all these years later!

Then the everyone but me starts playing cards, and I go to sleep on the couch.

That long?

So much so that I haven’t seen my extended family in over 8 years.

And probably the first sex addict in America‼️

I had a brief membership in Ancestry.com and I learned that my paternal ancestors from England had very large families. Lots of deaths and remarriages. Those good old days weren’t quite as good as advertised.

BTW, another notable American whose statue graces London, U.K. is Abraham Lincoln. BION

Man, is THAT what they meant by “Tippecanoe and Tyler too”….? I always thought it was just a meaningless slogan….

Tyler was born in 1790 and has a grandson who is still living.

Tyler was the 10th POTUS. He took office in 1841, after William Henry Harrison (“Old Tippecanoe”) died about 1 month after being inaugurated. Tyler’s first wife died in 1842, aged 51. They had eight children. He remarried in 1844. Tyler and his 2nd wife had 7 children.

Lyon Gardiner Tyler, born in 1853, is a son of John Tyler and his second wife. Lyon Tyler and his first wife had 3 children. After she died, Lyon Tyler remarried. He remarried, and fathered 3 more children. Lyon Gardiner Tyler Jr. was born in 1925, and died in 2020. Harrison Ruffin Tyler was born in 1928, and is still alive.

As to George Washington, I think that he may have wanted to avoid British soils since he probably still had arrest warrants pending. Also, two of John Tyler’s grandchildren are still alive

Sounds like President John’s primary interest was NOT governing the country!
