“Irgendwo tief in mir bin ich ein Kind geblieben, erst dann, wenn ich’s nicht mehr spühren kann, weiß ich es ist für mich zu spät, zu spät…” (“Somewhere deep inside I have stayd a child. Only then, when I can’t feel this anymore, I know it’s too late for me, too late…”) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yNs5n3hfPI4
Time to call in Henry – I’m sure he’ll get rid of the snow on the walk in nothing flat … just make sure he’s pointed away from any flammable objects. Then you, your inner kid, and he can play in what’s left!
The wife could get up and do her share and cut the work in half instead of sitting and announcing a storm had come through. They might even enjoy a snowball fight.
I grew up in California so we didn’t have snow; snow was something you had to drive a few hours up into the mountains to see. In many ways I envied the kids that got snow, and the idea of it snowing seemed so exciting. I couldn’t understand why the adults (in the comics, or real life) didn’t like it, and complained about having to shovel it. All I could imagine was “why not just leave it?”. However, after many years of working in snowy locations, my understanding changed considerably!

Hopefully the adult in him won’t have to many aches afterward.
It’s nice to see him actually going out to use a shovel instead of resorting to wizardry right away.

At least put on your snow robe.

OK. Where, exactly, did that kid pop up at. I understand feeling exuberant and all, but I’m getting a weird vibe here. …moving on.

Again with shoveling the snow- what does the dragon do to earn his keep?

Doesn’t he clear the driveway with a wand?

Find a hill, put the shovel blade on the ground, sit on it, elevate handle and enjoy the ride.

Is there a reason you can’t do it by magic?

At times in the winter shoveling the walkway/driveway is the only exercise available. Why wouldn’t you choose to do that?

Let the kid in you do the needful and you would be surprised.

Totally get it. You know you’ve gotten old when snow is a nuisance rather than a fun plaything. Sigh.
