Janis is beautiful, but she can’t accept that. This is so sad.

It seems contradictory but there can be suspicions if you are complimentary about the overall female form, however also a fit of pique if you miss a change or cut of the hairdo.

Re fourth panel, I’m unable to imagine any man confiding to someone “Hey, I whistle at my wife to make fun of her!”.

Janis not appreciating that Arlo remains attracted to her after all of their years is getting tiresome. I mean, JJ could still create strips with Arlo’s almost-work wife (I forget her name).

I have read that many men in the 3-D world experience what Arlo does in today’s strip and that they no longer give their spouses compliments about much of anything. Not a good way to spend your final years.

maybe this is one reason God decided our eye sight changes over time. Harder to see the wrinkles.

Say, when was the last time you let Arlo know how desirable and sexy HE is, Janis? The man’s a keeper, IMO

Women can be very strange about compliments. A long time ago I found that the compliment most likely to disturb a woman is if you just say “Hey, nice shoes!”

The range of responses you’re likely to get is amazing, but the interesting part is how defensive/angry some are about a compliment (from a man) on their choice of footwear.

Still ain’t figured out the why of it.

Well there’s a pretty good way Arlo could prove it!

Janis is so dumb. If she keeps telling Arlo how unattractive she is, he might eventually start to believe her. I would never point out any of my flaws to a male.

She tries to act snippy, but we all know better. WOMEN?

My wife is like Janis, cannot or will not accept a compliment.

This is my husband. No matter how out of shape I feel (or look!) he is always there to compliment and admire. Bless him!
