Wish my parents would do this. They hoard clothes like any minute they’re going to be infected with a tapeworm and will magically be able to fit into stuff they wore 40+ years ago.

Not a concern for my Janis although over 50 some years and a few deliveries she did go from a 7 AAA to 7 1/2 A.

The “giddy up” wardrobe. They ride up or go down to places they were never intended to be.

You might luck out and fit in them again. My aunt had dropped to 44 pounds just before she died. Come to think of it, two aunts were around that weight.

I suspect they would have preferred to not be that sick, though.

I do keep trying to do this, but it is depressing to believe I will never be able to wear 90% of the things in my closet.

I know Janis wanting to lose weight is a much revisited theme in A&J, but at this point I get a little sad when I see another strip about it.

Send the good ones to the donation bin and the worn-out ones to the rag pile. Reminds me to inventory my rag pile later…

Many years ago I went down this path with my now ex; the temp in the walk-in closet went from normal to artic to ‘en flagrante’ in about 30 seconds. I got in the car and went to town.

I have some slacks I’ll be able to wear towards the end of summer. It’s mostly a matter of longer and more dog walks.

Don’t throw them out, Janis….donate them so others can wear clothes that they don’t have to pay the ridiculous retail prices for!

I’ve narrowed down my wardrobe to jeans and t-shirts. I have one polo type shirt if I need to be more formal. If I have to be really formal, I likely won’t go.

I kept old clothes for years telling myself I would lose weight. I finally decided that if I lost weight I would be happy to spend the money on new clothes. Out they went, then I did lose some weight, and I didn’t mind spending the money.

The hard part was admitting they’ll never fit again. THEN it was easy.

I hope it is just a rumor that comments will be discontinued. However, if this is true, please discontinue my subscription and refund the unused portion to my account. There are comics in every newspaper in the country, and I subscribe to two of them on line. There is no value to your site other than being able to interact with other subscribers. This is ONLY if comments will not be allowed on all scripts. If this is just a rumor, please continue to allow me to continue to talk to my friends ( and enemies) . This is the only site I know of that allows full discussions on varying topics and varying opinions. It’s valuable as long as it has comments, it’s worthless without them.

OR just eat less and exercise more. Switch out those morning walks for runs and cover more distance and burn more calories in the same time.

Janis: Being there, doing that. In my case, though, I’m losing weight.

(Or am I not allowed to write that because it can be considered hate speech?)

Every time my waistline has expanded 2 inches, I have kept my old pants for years. Every time I say I’m going to drop 20 lbs, and never do. Sigh.

Dropped about 30 lbs during Covid and the food shortages – gained most back since, but still weigh 10 lbs less than I did in high school.

Oh don’t do that! Keep a few of them because, you never know what life changes are down the road and your size may go up or down.
