Pot, meet Kettle.

That’s like the big brother who makes his little brother’s life hell but will beat up any other kid who touches him.

You don’t have to yell at her! ONLY I DO THAT!

Evil mum, good Zoe, right?

That’s Zoe’s job.

That wasn’t yelling.

Zoe loves her little sister, ah!

And so it begins.

Blimey. I wish my parents would have ‘yelled’ at me that way!

She’s not crying because of anyone yelling at her, she’s crying because she wants her own way!

Oh boy, crushed crayon in the carpet! Interesting things happen when the pieces get sucked up into the vacuum cleaner.

Reminds me of some interactions with my younger bother (I mean brother) when we were about that same age. All I wanted was to be left alone.

I had a little brother I was very protective of! He was six years younger, and sissy could do no wrong!

As I said the first time this one came around, I think it’s that there’s a big difference between a sister scolding and a mom scolding.

My daughters are 23 months to the day apart. When I brought home the youngest my oldest absolutely adored her baby sister. One day I was cleaning out the baby’s umbilical cord with alcohol. Anyone who has had children knows they cry (not due to pain, but because it is cold). Now when she cried my oldest slapped my hand and said, “Don’t hurt the baby Mommy!”. It was so cute and sweet. They are in their 30s now.

This is a lot what being a supervisor of grown-a$$ adults was like too.

Wren needs to learn she can’t get by with everything. Yelling is not a bad thing. Kids do it all the time.

To be fair, taking something from a toddler’s hand isn’t the way either. Asking for it nicely with your hand extended demonstrates good behavior to both girls. Mom needs to give a consequence to the baby for her actions, not a harsh one, just something to help her learn. Adding that Zoe is responsible to keep her things out of the baby’s reach, especially sharp pencils and when baby has something she shouldn’t offering a trade would be nice but like sitcoms such as Married With Children, comics like this gives us a feeling that we’re okay because we make mistakes too.

This is why my baby brother turned out spoiled.
