What happened after Zoe stole Hammie’s candy? They behaved as if Hammie agreed to something, but there was no agreement, so it was outright theft.

Hammie, going to Zoe for advice is like a conservative going to the mainstream media expecting an objective opinion.

Expanding a great short story to novel length usually just kills it.

My son hated it, he was a linear thinker. He liked math, science, etc. He was class valedictorian in HS, he got straight A’s in college, put himself through with grants and scholarships, didn’t owe a penny when he graduated with three engineering degrees.You’ll do okay, Hammie, you just have to find your niche!

I’m not sure Zoe is an objective reviewer, though.

They said the same thing to Hemingway when he first began to write. It was Claude Hemingway, not Earnest, but still.

Yes Hammie, writing is both hard and easy. Writing a poem, story or novel is painting a picture show with words so that others can see what you are seeing when writing.

Sometimes it’s easier to wrote when a prompt is given, such as a word, phrase, picture, object etc.

Hammie needs to spend more time on it. Writing that is good and short takes time. Mark Twain (supposedly; it’s been attributed to others, as well) once apologized for the length of a letter he sent a friend, saying “If had more time, I would have written a shorter letter.”

Use voice to text to write what you wish and then build on the inevitable errors.
