Once again, I am sure that this strip is purely the product of the author’s imagination and in no way reflects actual events in the author’s household. The Boy and the Girl would never (be allowed to) engage in such messy crafts and Lupin would never “help” with such messy crafts!
Personal feelings – glitter is one of the worse craft items! It is either tiny metal pieces… or tiny plastic. Neither one is any good on environment. In the home it gets in everywhere. Mostly in places you do not want it to go. Like Christmas pine needles… it will take a long time to get it out of everything. And swallowing the stuff is not good on anyone. I will now step down from my Soap Box… and go back to vacuuming the area where glitter exploded in storage boxes… YEARS ago and still is leaking everywhere!
Also, in case you missed it yesterday: Georgia has just released a bunch of awesome new stuff (and all the old stuff is still there) in the Zazzle store!
(And I just bought a new computer and therefore have no disposable income! (Not that I had all that much to begin with, but . . .))
Don’t slaves drive you mad, sometimes! They are supposed to look after one’s personal needs and maintain the household. That’s what they are for. And then suddenly they go around changing things. This time they have stuck up a little fake tree and covered it with flashy things. And now they are putting up flashy stuff in other other places.
Without permission!
That’s what comes of being too soft on them.
Do they realise those little snowmen are in paw’s reach?
Sophititi: Strange. Someone seems to have accessed my art supplies.
Maat-Tilda: Someone seems to have gotten into my sewing supplies as well.
Sophititi: Did they take anything?
Maat-Tilda: No, that’s the strange part. I seem to have more fabrics, and some of them look like the ones I was admiring on my last trip to Afar when Adobe Style was weaving on her new loom.
Sophititi: And I have a new set of fine camel hair brushes. And an origami cat made out of papyrus.
Maat-Tilda: I have one of them, too. What does it all mean?
Sometime Later
Kara: Sophititi, I see you are creating a new mural for the palace.
Sophititi: Yes. I was mysteriously gifted a fine set of camel hair brushes. On a Wednesday.
Kara: (Winks at Vann) I’m sure it was a fine camel who made them.
It reminds me of a recent comparison I heard regarding COVID exposure: “If you have ten kids in a room making arts and crafts projects, and one kid uses glitter, how many projects will have glitter on them?” Answer: ten.
Day Smallpox Declared Eradicated: There are simply too many obliviots these days for the same thing to happen with the virus that causes COVID-19. It could be done, but not with current ignorance and stupidity fueled attitudes.
International Day of Veterinary Medicine: Thank a vet!—for your furpersons’ health.
National Llama Day: Basically a redesigned camel: smaller, more versatile, drought resistant, looks almost as silly, and with the same bad attitude—actually, not when properly raised. You have to like an animal that hums, and you must respect an animal that takes horking to the weapons level, with a range of ten feet.
World Techno Day: “Ain’t technology wunnerful!” In some societies, technology isn’t merely embraced, it’s an obsession. Some may wonder what the “i” in “iPhone,” “iPad,” etc. stands for. “i” is for “idiot.” It is a closely guarded secret whether this is intended to apply to the device or it’s purchasers. However, based on years of experience with the former, and observation of many of the latter, it’s a safe bet that it is for both.
National Pastry Day: Just in time for my second cup of coffee … I wish. I’m not talking about the machine-made stuff, but the kind that is made in a real bakery, from ingredients that don’t come from a chemical plant and are explosion hazards or worse. So if you find yourself on a roll, may it always be sweet—and not a prune Danish.
When my brother and sister were pre schoolers she liked to give them a pail of water and a couple of paint brushes so they could paint the back yard fence. One day she caught them painting the dog singing, “We’re painting the roses red.” He was a very tolerant dog.
OMC! OMC OMC OMC!!!! I just realized that the Quinn Animal Shelter items on Zazzle feature pictures of Baby Tommy, Baby Lupin and Baby Puck (with Buzzy Mouse)!!!!!!
Glitter is a microscopically thin piece of metal bonded to one or two sheets of clear, sometimes colored, polymer. It is not electrostatically neutral, but rather bipolar. Therefore it is attracted to, and sticks to, any surface that is not electrically neutral.
Almost everything has a “surface charge,” even Teflon™ has a slight one. In common understanding, this is “static electricity”—it is an electrical charge that does not move unless in contact or proximity to another electrical charge.
Metallic paints are essentially sub-microscopically thin, flat, pieces of metal with a more or less insoluble polymer coating … are you beginning to see where this leads?
Glitter is essentially coarse metallic paint pigment in and air suspension. Removing it? This is where Robin comes in …

I saw Lupin and glitter in the same frame of reference, and felt a great disturbance in the Force.

Oh dear. It’s going to be awhile before Lupin can achieve invisibility again.
But it’s a much better look than paint and ink. Such a pretty sparkle pony kitty!

Lupin is ALWAYS pretty! He doesn’t need sparkles for that. And poor Pucky, afraid to touch anything since the spilled glass incident.

Lupin’s pretty
Oh, so pretty
He is pretty, and glittery and bright
And we pity
Any kitty who isn’t him tonight
He looks charming
Oh, so charming
It’s alarming how charming he can be
And so pretty
That we hardly believe he’s for realzies
See the pretty cat on that table there
How attractive can one cat be?
Such a handsome face
Such a sparkly tail
Such a reportin’ ace
Such a news time fail
He is stunning
And entrancing
Feels like running and dancing, what fun
For he’s loved
By pretty much everyone
