I love the way Tortimer is spinning around in happy little circles while Puck delivers gentle wisdom to Lupin. Elvis continues to be charmed and Goldie gives a jaded heads up to Lupin.
Vac: Welcome, my friends. Maybe you’re new to vacuuming, or maybe you’ve vacuumed for a long time. No matter, we’ll discover joy in what we do.
Now maybe there’s a big red couch over here. We’ll go underneath and vacuum up happy little dust bunnies. That’s right, maybe we’ll go back for another spin.
Oops, we just bumped into a table leg. No matter, we’ll just turn around and go another way. Every vacuum run is another journey of discovery.
And here comes a feisty little kitty. No worries, just a few spins and he’s taken care of. Now here’s a happy little black kitty friend.
And there we have our vacuum run for the day. Tune again next time for another happy little vacuum run. Bye, bye!
It seems Goldie might be hoping for a ride on Tortimer too, but since she does remember what it was like to new and be pounced on and getting grief, she will probably take the more gentle approach. I am not sure how Lupin will feel about it if she gets a nice peaceful ride. Though considering Lupin he probably likes the wild rides. :)
I saw a funny story on imgur yesterday about how a smart dog figured out how to herd a “Lawn Roomba” (robot lawnmower). (WARNING: The story contains one F-bomb – but I couldn’t resist sharing it because it’s as over-the-top impressive as it is hilarious!)
The self-propelled autonomous vacuum cleaner is a spin-off from the “turtle”, which was an output device – basically the flip-side of a mouse. In some applications, you could set the “turtle” down on a large piece of paper and draw output from a computer – the first Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) plotter.
Has it occurred to these goofs that Tortimer is a vacuum? Elvis hasn’t headed for under the bed. There will come a day of reckoning. On the other hand, Tortimer might replace ‘the big dog’.
I wonder how, in-universe, Lupin WAS received by Puck and Elvis! I seem to remember Georgia mentioning once that Elvis bellied on up behind kitten Lupin with a gigantic terrifying hiss…which Lupin, being deaf, didn’t even notice. As I recall, Elvis was rather put off by this – as any of us rolling such an unexpected critical miss would be!

Just got to love Goldie’s scowl in that last panel. She’s certainly speaking from experience, being a bit of a newcomer herself.

Oo, burn! But it’s tough to be a Cat of Adventure without pouncing on stuff.

Despite her scowl, I see Goldie is getting into Lupin’s spirit of things with a bandana of her own…

Well, you did nick his recorder, Goldie. But Lupin’s a Livewire Loki.

Lupines ears are really pink. Either he is straining his brain very hard to picture the scenario, or he is embarrassed at his former behavior.

That’s quite some shade Goldie is throwing. But Lupin is oblivious.

I feel for you Lupin. It is hard to fathom how someone could be so inconsiderate when we are so saintly.

Lupin’s problem is that he doesn’t see being pounced on as “giving you grief”. For him, that’s being welcomed into the gang and having fun.

Love this one, Lupin is hilarious, and a bit clueless and slightly narcissistic (we all can be at some time just don’t make it a habit).
