Speaking of fuzzy blankets, does anyone have any suggestions about what type of blanket provides the most warmth? My electric one died last yr and with the rise in electric rates, I’m not going to get another one(plus it’s not much good when I lose power). My skin has become very sensitive the last couple of years and I need something soft too unless I put it in between other blankets.
I’ve known cats who need to make several days worth of biscuits before settling in to finally fall asleep, so I can only hope Elvis isn’t parked on someone’s lap here.
And, Elvis, I think you’re interfering with Sophie’s Napathon. Maybe keep it down so you don’t get charged with Nap Interference?
Does anyone else get the feeling that by the time Elvis has prepared his napping spot to perfection and settles down to snooze the nap-a-thon will be over?
Take it easy, Elvis, or you’ll have that fuzzy blanket in shreds – then it won’t be any good to anyone!
OT: !t’s definitely Fuzzy Blanket Season here in SE PA – 26F this morning, & I’m fighting a cold (first one in 3 years, not a clue how I got it, since I mask up whenever I leave the apartment & keep the spray sanitizer handy at all times!) & getting ready to take R to his pain doc appointment in a few minutes…debating going all-out for the puffy coat…
I wish I could sleep as soundly as those cats, or even Hamilton. That kitten runs and runs throughout the house and then crashes and is asleep in thirty seconds.
As soon as he awakes, it’s mealtime. Hamilton is not what you would call a ‘fussy eater’. He likes cat food (dry and canned), and dog food, and pizza, and bacon, and roast, and tomato, and gravy, and kitten food, and cheese, and hummus, and onion, and salad, and ham, and potatoes, and rice, and fish, and chicken, and sausage, and beef, and lamb, and pork, and Chinese food, and Mexican food, and Thai food, and French food, and German food, and Italian food, and Greek food, and Mexican food, and English food, and Sushi, and…
Update had the zoomies night before last. Since she’s too small to knock over lamps, so far, so she just ran from the foot of my bed to the head of my bed and back over and over and over and over. She only weighs about 1.3 lbs, but she makes it work. Reboot was asleep between me and the wall and completely ignored her. Then she managed to climb to the top level of the cat tree and discovered where my daughter had hung my birthday windchimes. Oh look, loud dangly things. She had a blast swatting them until her claw got caught in a turtle and I had to get her unstuck. Took forever to get back to sleep and Reboot was so disgusted that he went to sleep with Jora. Yes, I moved the chimes.

Elvis is going to be exhausted. All the rest will be ready for the 2AM running of the cats, and Elvis will sleep right through it.

Christopher Cross: Ride Like the Wind
It is the night
But I’m not weak
Biscuits to make
Before I sleep
Then I can nap
Nap like the wind
And be asleep again
…….
And I’ve got such a long way to go (such a long way to go)
To make about five hundred biscuits, you know
Then I’ll nap like the wind
Nap like the wind!
…….
I always must make biscuits before I nap
The fluffy blanket is a lovely wrap
Bakery’s open
I’ll keep on baking until I’m ready to sleep!
…….
And I’ve got such a long way to go (such a long way to go)
To make about five hundred biscuits, you know
Then I’ll nap like the wind
Nap like the wind!

Thomios: Time to close up the kitchen for the night.
Elvis-Anum: Wait! I need tea and some biscuits before I go to bed!
Thomios: I think we still have some biscuits available. Do you want butter to go with them? Or would you prefer British biscuits?
Elvis-Anum: What’s the difference?
Thomios: British biscuits are crisper and sweeter. What we call cookies.
Elvis-Anum: Well, since I’m having British tea, I think I’d like some British biscuits.
Thomios: Coming right up.
