I used to sneak behind the couch to watch TV after I was put to bed. I saw the Apollo 11 moon walks that way.
Happy new year…a little late.
Here’s an update on my job hunt. After completely wiping out all of my cash, I finally got a job. This is a 6-month on-site contract in Baltimore, so I ended up getting a room in an ESA hotel, where I’ll be for quite a while. The job has the possibility of going permanent, which I don’t relish but it pays the bills (and I have a lot).
I’ve been a bit sick with colds lately. Going from 80 degree weather to 5 degrees in a matter of a few hours didn’t help me, especially since I drove and spent two 5 degree nights sleeping in the back seat. Got a cold with bronchitis. And this just after I got over another one before it. I need a comforter and a few cats to cuddle up with for the next few days.
The worst part about being in the east is that the posting time for GoComics is now 1 AM instead of 11 PM. Waaaay past my bedtime. So my infrequent posting will have to be relegated to around 7 PM after everyone has had their fill of cats and postings. My goal now is not to be the first poster but the LAST poster. Don’t worry, I still read BCN every day; it’s just a lot later than usual.
Elvis isn’t actually watching. He’s just keeping her company while he reads some improving literature. Who is the feline author equivalent to David Hume?
Now that I think about it, why is Elvis ignoring the popcorn? How can he notice all that butter? It’s like gazing into the bright yellow lights of Buttertown!
Since it was later in the day when I posted I figured I would repost today. I saw that “It’s Showtime, Sophie” is available for preorder on Amazon, currently it has a release date of September 23, 2025.
I read some Travis McGee books, but I was appalled by “Cinnamon Skin”. In that the big secret is that During ww2 a character was producing chemicals in Egypt and selling them to the Germans. Anyone who knows anything about anything knows that Egypt was under British control, and that this would have been impossible. Completely ruined it. What were his editors thinking?
Sue Chef: I wonder if Phil-Adelph will see his shadow when he takes his yearly constitutional.
Thomios: That’s why we need to plan two menus. If he does see his shadow, we’ll have a Chocolate Everything buffet. Otherwise, we’ll have strawberries and cream and vanilla treats.
Sue: I’m not sure which I like better.
Violet-Ifa: Why not compromise and have both?
Thomios: Brilliant idea! And of course cheeses From Where We Know Not.
Vi: Well, you know that We’ll Never Tell!
Sue: But it’s sheer coincidence that you ladies have just come from your beginning of the year seminar at Punn State.

OZ makes such a fuss that Iggy gets overlooked — to his delight.

From the smiles, I’m assuming the TV show is a comedy. Apparently Elvis prefers the book.

Whatever they’re watching is bringing big smiles. Just look at Goldie, wow, she’s sure enjoying the fun.

Iggy is so unobtrusive, he could probably sneak a few pawfuls of popcorn from the Woman’s bowl.

Our darling boy Iggy can be excused for being up late. He is, after all, a creature of the night. LOL

Nice Iggy! Play it on the down low, and you can get away with everything. But you didn’t hear that from me, love. (ミゝᆽ╹ミ)

And Now the Conclusion of CCR Week: Down on the Corner
Late in the evening, when the kittens are asleep
The cats watch with the Woman while Elvis likes to read
Lupin’s on the sofa, look, what do we find?
There’s our good friend Iggy, as he lurks behind.
…….
There on the sofa, in front of the TV
The whole gang is there watching
While Ora’s at last asleep!
…….
Puck and Goldie laughing, Lupin reads along
The program is close captioned, nothing could go wrong
Woman’s eating popcorn, nowhere’s there a frown
Elvis plans a trip right to Butter Town!
…….
There on the sofa, in front of the TV
The whole gang is there watching
While Ora’s at last asleep!
…….
Such a pretty picture, calling for a Tee
Or maybe on a coffee mug for all to see
All for our Orb Friends on a Friday Night
Woman and her cats make such a lovely sight!
…….
There on the sofa, in front of the TV
The whole gang is there watching
While Ora’s at last asleep!

Go to bed, Iggy! Then again, he is by far the subtler of the duo, so he could go undetected.
