Smart as it is, the brain often doesn’t know when to start shutting down.

I just don’t know how anyone can stand to do that sort of research on their phone. Screen’s too small. That’s a computer search or nothing.

That “hyperfocus” is almost always followed by a Wile E. Coyote level crash. It’s a long way down from 2am.

It helps that you’ll be in the office, the next day, for an eight-hour nap!

The Carrington Event was a massive solar storm in 1859. I searched it so you wouldn’t have to. And don’t look up the Mt Everest mummies. Gross.

What’s wrong with bookstore woman’s face? She looks as if she’s wearing a hockey mask.

Oh, yes, the mummies who were the hikers who perished trying to make it to the summit. Many of them died from not just from hypothermia, but from hypoxia. Some of the mummies are decades old and have become mile markers and landmarks along the path. It’s not that people don’t care enough to bring the bodies back. It’s just that the conditions are so brutal that the climbers don’t have the strength so spare to haul them back down the mountain.

The best way to get someone to look something up is to tell them not to look something up.

That being said, I think I already know what to expect from “Everest mummies” so I think I’ll spare myself the nightmare fuel. But the Carrington Event sounds interesting!

I went down a rabbit hole of local metalcore bands at 4am this morning. I had to wake up at 9.

    Meanwhile, Back on the Nile

    At the oPyramid Library

Beatrixia: Yes, here is a copy of the Voyage Scroll. How did you come to hear about it, Iggy?

Iggy: It’s a popular topic among us seafarers. According to legend, it first was found in the Uttermost West.

Bea: That’s near the Elven Realm. I wonder if it could have been written in Tengwar Script.

Iggy: Maybe we can write to Fe-Anaro and his sons. I know Elvis keeps in touch with Mag-Lor.

    Bea: Let’s go ask.

    At Elvis’ Office

Elvis-Anum: Yes, some of the script does look familiar, but I’m not sure of what the words are. My scribe apprentices Tira and Akil are working on making a copy of the scroll.

Tira: It’s fun doing all this writing and drawing.

Iggy: If it’s in code, maybe I can help to decipher it.

Bea: It’s worth a try. And when Ebonee and Hapi get the printing press set up, we can make many copies. I’d like to give the first copy to Beaver Lee Cleary for the Afar library.

Iggy: Looks like a mystery is about to be solved.

Bea: But first, tea and scones!

The creepiest things I’ve seen are the bog bodies in the National Museum of Ireland. Twice.
