That doesn’t work anymore. I’m working from home because of the government, COVID, or whatever. My kids have grown, but my grandkids have a hard time understanding that even though I’m home, I’m still “at work”.
I thought Watterson looked like Calvin, and it took me some years (well, back in the 90s) to realize that Watterson looks like Calvin’s dad. I developed a new sense of appreciation for this character. Today’s Father’s Day somewhere in the Caribbean, so happy Fathers’ Day, Calvin’s dad. <3
I wonder, if this were being drawn today, if consideration would be given to having the mother go happily off to work, leaving her househusband to deal with hearth and home and Calvin.
My three boys all have that talent. When all three get going I sometimes wish I could unretire. The thought that I will someday remember these times with fondness is not comforting.
During this pandemic / quarantine / shelter in place, I am cleaning up the clutter around my desk. Throwing out expired coupons, shopping with valid coupons and saving money. My kitchen is clean and organized. Washing my own car, like I did at age 18.
There at times in my job that I love it. I’m in the Army and when I was stationed in Hawaii I loved doing photos of Army training at Bellows Beach in the morning. Just drive there very early in the morning to beat traffic, nap and wake up to take photos and sometimes video. I’m very certain my kids were be terrors while I was getting photos on the beach and riding in helicopters.

Nice how his first free time thought is to spend time with Calvin, even if he’s a maniacal little curveball.

Yup. That’s probably why men became hunters. The game is usually well away from the family and takes a good long while to get.

Interesting. No one commented about maybe the reason Calvin thinks up stunts is because Dad values work over time with the kid. Just sayin’.
