Bookie was obviously confident no one else would be using it! Seems like overconfidence was his biggest problem, judging how things worked out.

Actually, do most people have a password on their laptop that’s sitting around in their house? I don’t.

@Still Da Man!Yeah, the “tough love” approach turned out to be a bad idea! Nice John Steed avatar, BTW.

No passwords on my desktop, laptop, or netbook. I’ve seen other senior citizens that forgot their passwords and could not access their computers! If the likes of Measles ever gets in my house, he’ll have no problem using my computers.

I call that Measles announces that Gravel Gertie killed his daughter, one of the Rize twins. (Daddy and daughter. both drug dealers!)

And now Measles can hack all of Sparkle’s websites where the security question is, “What’s your mother’s maiden name.”

I, too, am surprised that Measles can access the web on Bookie’s laptop without needing a password, apparently. But now that knows who Sparkle really is, what will he do to get at Gravel Gertie through her?

Just the fact Measles was wanting her address says he’s up to no good. On the subject of passwords, it’s always a good idea to keep a password on your smart phone as well. Many people seem to forget that they’re carrying little computers with them that can be lost or stolen.

Although my browsers allow me to stay logged in I still have to re-enter the password every two weeks, but the dictionary app which can access Wikipedia does not need a login.

Measles means to do great harm. Soon off to the Acres with a fire-arm. I suspect he will be way-laid, by the mysterious crime-fighter, the amazing Moon Maid.

    </a.

Measles Enog (“Gone” spelt backwards) was the 19 year-old son of Anna Enog, the matron of a women’s prison.Measles supplied his mother with drugs, which she then sold to the inmates. This scheme was uncovered (with the help of Gravel Gertie, who was incarcerated at the time), and Anna killed herself. Upon learning of his mother’s death, Measles vowed revenge on Gravel Gertie.

Continuing proof that Measles isn’t too bright — going to hang out the home of the man he just murdered. Oy! Gotta say however that he’s the best dressed drug addict I’ve seen in awhile.

…Anybody else notice that in the third panel, two of Measles’ measles seemed to spontaneous pop off of his head? Seriously gross.

Yeah, this is going to a bad place. But I wish the story would go back to Moon Maid. That’s a lot more interesting.

Yep, even on my linux servers I don’t have passwords on them. For I’m the /only person/ in the building who could use them. (A bunch of older people who may not even know how to turn a computer ON, much less use an OS that’s not Windoz, or Apple. :)

Great going, Team Tracy! Sparkle looks exactly like she did in the 50s :). (I’m finally on book #13 so I read and saw Sparkle though the 2 years portrayed :).

One easy way to create a password is to take a favorite song lyric and slightly alter it by replacing letters with numbers, like this:Barney Google = 8@rn3yG00g13Use an 8 = B ; a @ = a ; 3 = E ; 0 = o ; 1 = lIt is simple to do, yet the password created is really strong, but simple to remember. Also using “special” characters can make a password strong, even if it is short. I had a friend who used cat as his password in school. Everyone new it was cat, but simple cat wouldn’t work because the “a” he was using was a “special” character. You can find out how to type special characters by using the character map in Windows. Things like ™ and © are common ones.

Yeah, I deal with medical data, so paranoia is rampant with my crowd… Passwords on everything, drives all encrypted, no direct internet access inside the building and on and on.

A password is trivial to defeat when you have physical access. You need to encrypt the disk if you want to make it harder to get information from a stolen laptop. Even then, you can’t leave it on or suspended. In fact, the encryption key will live in memory for several minutes after losing power before decaying. (A proper shutdown procedure will erase any keys before turning off power – but don’t count on that with Windows.)
