Is this a silhouette of a character âwalking off into the sunsetâ?⊠â Will Les finally âturn the cornerâ?⊠No, really⊠heâs running out of hallway⊠â Did Rosa realize that G-manâs had 2 bowls of âCheatiesâąâ cereal, this morning?âŠ. â Or did she think that it was really Guntherâs fault that the airâŠ. changedâŠas Les walked by?âŠ
Gunther accidentally just scored some BIG POINTS with Rosa! Meanwhile, Leslie is now paranoid, because he is fearful of those non-existent surveillance cameras. LOL
Okay as I see it, Leslie Knox has not been punished for actions in toilet which should encourage his defenders. On the other hand, he is now scared to bully around others as he has been doing non-stop, which should encourage those who want him to suffer. His âsufferingâ is him being forced by fear of cameras to treat others decently..Who knows? In time it might become second nature. In time he might notice people acting friendlier toward him and realize there are benefits to civility.-If this is indeed the outcome, was the artist simplistic? Is it artsy enough for those who demand realism?.Is this another unforgivable lie on the part of Crystal even though it saves others his former bullying torment?-Stay tuned tomorrow, same bat time, same bat channel.
If Leslie continues to feel forced to treat people much better than he is used to doing heâll have an epiphany. Maybe heâll notice people treating him differently too, and like it!
You forgot (g) âŠ.. no more PSAs on bullying (at least in the Pitts School district)⊠which means no more celebrities who get to be on camera some more⊠and no more kids with bad acting, who get to be in themâŠ..
âb. If (a) is true, then probably Principal Hightower just gave Leslie the 3 days suspension he asked for.c. Principal Hightower is a terrible principal.â-Assumption based on what?Thin air?
âput a camera on every light post & building, public space, malls and businesses, in fact pretty much everywhere except inside your dwellingâ-A camera in a public place is much like a policeman in that same public place without the poor eyesight, needs for toilet breaks, retirement, vulnerability to being shot and bribability or temptation thereof.-If it is used to tyrannize people through enforcement of petty laws, that shows the petty laws need to be rescinded lest we become a police state without police. There should never be a law which is not enforced. This does not mean all laws need to be enforced, it means some laws need to be removed from the books if they arenât worthy of general â versus selective â enforcement..If it is used to protect the helpless from those who would harm them, this is not a police state, this is liberty to be free from fear. (and at a lower cost)
âBrought to youâ by⊠(or not)âŠ=Al Parsonâs SecurityâŠ. âTech so effective, they wonât need to see any more!ââŠ. â CheatiesâąâŠ. âFortified with Iron, Steel, Uranium, Dextrose- II, âVitaminâ Z12 and Clairol-tin/Greecian Formula (for coloring)âŠ.The breakfast of somebody else!â⊠âAnd proud sponsor of the Nolympics!ââŠ. â Non-Star guidance systems⊠âComplete with official-sounding direction stuffs⊠just so they can stop saying: âWeâre lost, arenât we?â.. Non-star..showing everyone whoâs really driving!ââŠâŠ â and byâŠBillâs Mansion Front Entrance Camera Warehouse⊠âIn addition to your other security, our cameras will only enhance your system⊠with Billâs, itâs like having another spy at your gate!ââŠ
Since weâre on the Police State musingsâŠâŠhereâs something that gives me the shivers-We now have most cars being manufactured with GPS and telemetry- ostensibly to keep you safe in the case of a crashâŠ.or to download program updates to change parameters (ala Tesla). And Google is plowing ahead with self-drivers.I wonderâŠ.how will those self-drivers be programed? Will they be held to exactly the speed limit? What if you are driving your car in a reckless manner? The company can tell, itâs all being recorded in the carâs computer log. Will the government mandate that all cars must be so equipped? And that the companies must turn over the data? Will they remotely disable your vehicle if youâre violating? This is not fantasy, itâs already in place. Thatâs how those âLow Credit- No Creditâ car lots manage it- they fit the cars with a black box, you miss a payment, your vehicleâs ignition is remotely disabled and they arrive to tow your car.And if you think youâll just have it disabled, Iâll bet thereâs a law coming that will make it illegal to tamper with, just like they did to people who tried to remove their catalytic converters.Car companies are also pushing for legislation to limit the age of licensable vehicles to 15 years in some jurisdictions.Cheery thought, eh?
In England, CCTV is everywhere. Also in downtown Fort Worth TX (paid for by the Bass Bros. many long years ago). Not to mention in every casino in Nevada and elsewhere. I worked in a Nevada casino and got used to it. I couldnât care less if Iâm being filmed when out and about. It helps solve crimes and if you arenât a criminal, why should you care? And if it helps to knock twerps like Leslie Knox to his knees, Iâm even more for it.
Uh, those of you going on about Gunther scoring points with Rosa do realize that this entire story arc is a repeat and they havenât actually started dating yet?
It does seem that Leslie is leaving in a hurry âOut of my way!â, which at least strongly implies that he walked into the principalâs office, made his incoherent pitch for a 3-day suspension, and is now leaving the school to go on it, leaving Principal Hightower wondering what just happened. He certainly didnât discuss the âincidentâ any further than we saw yesterday, or he would have been told right off that there arenât any security cameras.
Cameras. Les will mutter on and on about cameras. Tiffany will over hear him complaining about the cameras. Tiffany. Cameras. Glam poses in the hallways. One could work with that.
Sooner or Later, This âThug â Moronâ is gonna Figure Out that there are NO âSchool Camerasâ and is gonna come looking for Revenge on EVERYBODY!
Somebody Better come up with a Plan âBâ Quick!
Les pushes Rosa aside and knocks the books out of her hands; thinks heâs on camera; makes a show of politeness (however repugnant to him); and incidentally gives Gunther a huge boost, both to his own ego and in Rosaâs eyesâan extra benefit of Crystalâs power.
Escambia County School District buses have three cameras and a hard drive recording monthâs worth of high quality video from each.Upgrade the memory a mite and they could probably get ten yearâs worth. Now for stop arm cameras for the callous souls who run the stop arm knowing full well kids arenât going to notice until after they get run down and killed â the grown-up Leslies of the world.
There is no single solution but cameras are a tool to sort truth from lie..Early intervention only works â if at all â if custodial authority is stripped. The cure may be worse than the disease, especially since the cure may not work.
It is not surprising on how many folks start to behave themselves when they believe that there is some form of security not far. Be it camera, and or security person. My husband and a friend of ours found this out more than one time.We had criminals who tended to pull scams living in the condo unit next to ours. When my husband would walk outside in his work gear. They got VERY nervous. So nervous that they tore apart the car they had just bought for parts. And then they left in the dark of the night out of the unit. Leaving most of their belongings behind. Also at the school bus when he wears his work gear. Drivers tend to behave and not go thru the flashing reds like some tend to do.That friend saved a barista from a jerk who was sexually harassing her at the coffee shop. All he did was show up in his work gear. The gal had sworn before that, that she was going to call security. As our friend walked up to meet my husband(who had witnessed some of it). The harasser looked at the gal and said, âI didnât think you had the guts to call securityâ. And the harasser fled right after saying that.
No tolerance".Youâre opposed to tolerance?Excuse me, of course you are.Nonetheless, it is obvious Leslie Knox does not attend a zero tolerance school or else he would not have a long histoty of run-ins with the principal and Leslie still attending.Too bad, I know this makes you sad.
Nor have I called you insane. The word âtrollâ comes to mind, but thatâs another matter.. YOU were the one who called my beloved Tiffany âinsaneâ you varlet.
-put a camera on every light post & building, public space, malls and businesses-It would appear that Great Britain beat us to this; not only do they have cameras all over the place, they have police assigned to monitor them. So if you try to grab someoneâs purse in London, donât be surprised if a voice from a loudspeaker orders you to cease and desistâŠ
Two outcomes, which, I know not*1) Leslie finds out about Crystalâs lie, and sheâs going to need protection.2) Leslie finds he actually gets more respect and power by beiing nice, and changes his personality.*Well, I guess we know which is more probable.
Not to put the G-man down, but heâs been manly to Rosa twice:1) With the backpack, and this worked because Ox was nearby pounding his fist into his palm.2) Today, because Crystal made it possible with a lie about cameras.*Hope the G-man learns to keep his friends nearby at all times.*PS is Rosaâs surprise over the strength of Gunthers reaction or merely at Lesâs response?
âTime to use an excuse about your reading glasses, or your ânon-smart phone and fallible memoryâ.Maybe itâs just your mind-set?â.Not today, save that one for later. Once again, I never called the imaginary lady anything.. I find it hard to imagine anyone marrying such a person..And as to mind-set, Iâm not the one imagining the worst against the poor, overworked paincipal and imagining suspensions not spelled out. or treating sweet little Tiffany as if she must be insane to think sheâs photogenic..Sad when you contemplate the anger out there.
-Crystals âpowerâ is realizing sheâs friends with Luann-Sorry, but Iâve never seen any evidence that Crystal and Luann consider themselves to be friends. Crystal spends most of her âfriendâ time with Tiffany, one of the characters you support because you have decided the cartoonist is unfair to her.-My question from previous days still stands: since you dislike this comic so much (and you have acknowledged that the cartoonist is not influenced by comments on this board), why not just read a comic you enjoy?
âI suspect this is one of them resurfaced under another nom-de-bridge. Thus, hard as it is, I will no longer respond to itâs tauntings.â.But they get hungry unless they are fed and there isnât much food under the bridge.
I considered âTotally Hidden Videoâ, âCandid Cameraâ, âUndercover Bossâ and related âincognito inspectionâ shows, but the ânon-non factorâ of the PittsâŠ.âcamerasâ⊠if you will, seemed to weigh against itâŠ..
Weâve had so many incidents of school assaults/fights and assaults against teachers and other nefarious activities (including a case of a ârelativeâ of a student coming onto school grounds with a ski mask on to attack/retaliate against someone, only to get cold-clocked by the victim) making their way onto a kidâs cellphone for âdistributionâ via YouTube and other social media⊠â It has even made and helped the news and authorities find out who was responsibleâŠthough it wasnât the original purpose of some of those recording with their phone cameras⊠which is the sad part, as people were quick to film for entertainment and to boost themselves, and not for the betterment of anyone)..
" If he did not correct Leslie about this basic element, then the rest of my assumptions fall into place.".Not correcting an assumption not fully explained might not be considered his duty. For all the principal knows there may actually BE such a video, since he would have to take Leslieâs word about the entire thing. Why would Leslie Knox confess to a punishable offense based on a nonexistent,. unknown video?.Methinks Mr. Knox is not the best listener in the world. (everybody has at least one flaw, so maybe that is his).
âf. All across Pitts High School, girls will be surprised by how manly their boyfriends have been become as bullying Leslie becomes a school-wide past time.â.Just curious, do you really believe most people would be bullies if they had the chance?I watched A CLOCKWORK ORANGE too and found it interesting at the end when the folks decided on deprogramming and he went back to raping and otherwise terrorizing the people..Even if they were tempted, do you think the girlfriends would support the evil? Most do not go around bullying others who they donât expect to fight back.
There was even a case in Florida of 6-8 teens where the group lured a shared common ârivalâ to one of their houses, proceeded to block off the exits and beat her (verbally and physically)⊠they got it on their camera (they had a teenage boy to do it) and posted it all over⊠â In the end, it helped authorities find out who was connected (sadly, some of the parents, if not helping to do it, didnât help to stop it) and the law took it from thereâŠ.
@ReallyBadâso yesterdayâ⊠youâre welcome to your interpretation of course, but visible evidence (on the first day of the arc) is that Knute is some kind of Official School Bathroom Cleaner. As such, obviously heâd have permission to close the bathrooms as needed.
If so, your interpretation of what was and was not permissible goes out the window.
And your interpretation is not matching what is actually happening now.
-with the prevalence of cell phones with cameras .. have installed hallway cams become unnecessary?-A lot of the school districts in Florida ban kids from carrying their cells during the day, because they canât control all the texting that goes on otherwise. Of course, when a shooter intrudes and parents are frantically trying to reach their kids, thatâs a problem. But so far, school districts prefer kids to leave cells at home, in cars or in lockersâŠ
âThe whole point is you canât force someone to change, they have to see the light and do it naturally themselves.â.Then it was misguided on the authorâs part. You can force people to change by changing their habits. Most people do not think about the things they do, they just conform to societal conditioning. They just say, âIt isnât done.â This is why some cultures treat children as precious treasures and others will be proud to have killed their own daughters if they think they have dishonored the family.-âI believe in most cases bullies are the way they are because of home life and how theyâre initially treated. In the case of Leslie, he could have (been? dhg) teased ruthlessly for his name, then he comes home to awful parents who give no support, so he starts getting tough and hating everyone. And then it builds and builds and now you have a jerk.â.It could be, but once again you are building on a mountain of assumptions. There are people who have absolutely no concern for the feelings of others, their brains are simply miswired. As has been mentioned earlier, sometimes what seem to be good parents still produce bad children. It could be that they are secretly bad parents or that the birth defect has won out. There is no reason to believe other children teased Leslie about his name. I went to school with Andy Taylor and Charlie Brown â their real names â and nobody ever teased them about it..âI think if some of these characters would reach out to him and try to be a friend instead of assuming heâs going to be a huge jerk all the time, heâd change.â.You are assuming again that nobody has ever tried to befriend him. You are accusing others of what you have not seen (every day of his life up to this point) to justify what you HAVE seen. Facts not in evidence.. âBut right now he has no reason to change. The world hates him so naturally heâs going to hate the world, and thatâs sad.â.But the world does not hate him. Nor does he hate the world. He just enjoys pushing it around â or he did. For the most part the world just wishes he would stop attacking it. And he DOES have a reason to change. He may just not see it as being as important as entertaining himself by bullying.
> What video? From the âsecurity camerasâ in the bathroom which do not exist?>Exactly. So when Leslie says âthe videoâ will show he acted in self-defense, anyone who is doing his job would ask âWhat video?â and try to find out just what Leslie is babbling about.
Either the student is hallucinating, or some pre-vert has installed a camera to get their jollies. No sense checking out either scenario, the kid wants to be suspended.::::;;;; RUBBER STAMP!!! ;;;;::::
You are right, as usual, a camera can be vandalized. Multiple cameras in each otherâs fields of view can be vandalized but would likely record the vandal in action..My main error was to think of shot as a way of expressing the murder or wounding of a human..Machines CAN be shot
ââŠwe havenât really been told in the strip that Leslie has been suspendedâââââââââââââAll we know for sure is that Les has not been disabused of the notion that there are cameras in the hallways.Speculation about his suspension is just that.Although we may infer that he didnât get a fair hearing along with this basic non correction of a fact, and say that, at best, he was told to go back to his classes and the matter would be looked into.
-I think so much love life talk about Quill has gotten Bernice to her breaking point-A number of us have been posting opinions that Bernice lost interest in Luann as a friend some time ago, way before Quill came on the scene, and generally feels as though Luann is a waste of her time. The same can often be said of Delta.-I donât know if you followed the arc about Bernice going for an interview for a counseling internship, with Delta along. They began the episode by agreeing how lucky they were that Luann wasnât with them, because she would be overly dramatic about everything. They then proceeded to become totally overly dramatic themselves when Bernice is running out of gas, they stop at a gas station, the keys get locked in the car, and on and on.-Bernice is portrayed as very intelligent, as is Delta. Itâs likely that they have outgrown Luann, who is kind of an âevery personâ, not a genius. But Berniceâs constant sarcasm toward everything Luann says, which is a sign of disrespect (especially among teens) is why I figured months ago that their friendship was over. Itâs only Luann who hasnât seen that yet.
- Rosa likes Gunther for being smart, but thatâs about it. Everything else about him she dislikes.-This seems very unlikely. Rosa is the one who keeps inviting Gunther to dances or to go on other dates. Why would she do that if she only liked him for his brain? You donât invite someone to a dance if you only like them for being smart.-She doesnât dislike him because he isnât âmanlyâ. She is saddened that he seems uninterested in her as a girlfriend, because Rosa canât understand why, if he likes her, she has to do all the inviting and initiate all the kissing. To her, the fact that he never starts anything doesnât mean he isnât manly, it means he doesnât care for her.-Also, it can easily seem to her that he shows that he likes her only when he stands up for her. Again, this isnât being a tough guy, itâs showing actual emotion, by showing that the girl matters enough that you would talk back to a bully if he seems to be hurting her.-By the way, there are probably as many reasons why someone becomes a bully as there are bullys. I had immigrant neighbors and the Dad beat their kids, back when I was a real young kid and there were no child welfare agencies. Those kids, in turn, went out and beat up younger boys who couldnât stand up to them.-But there are bullys who do that to gain power over coworkers, bullys who like to give pain because they really enjoy seeing other people in pain, bullys who were so overly indulged by parents who never set any limits that they keep âtestingâ to see if there are limits.-And then there are people who are just plain psychotics, like that guy who kidnapped 4 different women and held them captive for years in a house where he beat them, and forced one to deliver the baby he fathered of another. He ended up killing himself in prison, but before then, he explained in court that HE was the victim.-I havenât been reading this comic for long, but Iâve never seen anything to explain why Les is the way he is. So I wonât even guess. All I care about is that bullying needs to be stopped, whatever the bully uses as his or her justification.
-One problem with that is that lockers can be, and have been, broken into-Actually, there are a lot of problems with school district policies on cells and that is only one of them. Iâm just glad Iâm not the person who has to figure out how to manage social media in the schools!
âLeslie Knox is a fairly recent addition actually.â-ââââââââââââââFirst Appearance: January 28, 2012http://www.gocomics.com/luann/2012/01/28
Meh methinks ye are operating under several misconceptions. For one, I don ât think leslie knox is listening in and having his feelings hurt by my failure to call him by the shorter version. For another, you think I feel self-important. I am important. Third, you think I am not nice to people in real life. Nothing could be farther from the truth and nearly everybody likes me and tries to be near me.
We gotta hope Gunther doesnât get too brave and confront Les somewhere else. Canât have Ox show up again (Ox Ex Machina). Maybe Dirk would happen along and sweetly signal to Les that this is not a good time to get even. Les is not going to argue with Dirk.
Sorry, I havenât read all jillion comments, but at a school in my fair burg, two students were duking it out on the floor, and another student videoâd them and put it on YouTube. In the video he could be heard laughing and saying, âOnly at [name of school]!â All three were disciplined.
Way to go, Gunther!!! It might have been Lesâ fear of hall cameras that he picked up Rosaâs books, but Gunther did come out of the situation smelling like a roseâŠmuch to the delight of Rosa! ;)
Yesterday: IamJayBlue, thanks for the kind thoughts. I was going to try to get on here in the early am, but I got home from a energy-grabbling meeting, and all I wanted to do was hit the sack! LOL! Hope to be here tomorrow in the early am! ;)
I canât imagine a school not having security cameras installed nowadays. If there are cameras in a restroom, however, Iâm sure they would be focused on the door to the hallway.
âtrue, so maybe theyâll move to another bridge.â Preferably on the other side of the world where there is a paucity of PCs, Smart phones, and etc. ;)
âThink I can sell him that ocean front property Iâve got in Wyoming?â Seeing that there is credible speculation that a super-volcano is due to blow in Yellowstone Natâl Park sometime in the not to far distance, there just might be an ocean propertyâŠan ocean of lava, pumice and other stuff volcanoes release upon blowing upâŠhehehe ;)
I canât get the âReplyâ button to work *&%%$@! I do find, Meh-thodology, that the avatars Do help. To compensate, I look at the posterâs name first. But the avataars are the best way to know who is postingâŠme included LOL! ;)
> Obviously Greg didnât think what transpired in the Principalâs Office was all that important.>Itâs too bad that Mr. Evans doesnât believe it matters whether his story is at all plausible or makes sense.
You should probably know by now that if you think we agree on something, you have very likely misunderstood..I acknowledge people CAN be forced to behave and that is working on thug Leslie. I disagree with you that authors should be forced to write the way you KNOW they should write. That would just be more bullying which I despise and which you insist on justifying..âAnd then you make your own equally invalid assumptionsâ assumes I am making assumptions. What I am mostly doing is point out that there are things we simply donât know. We donât know what went on between the last frame and the first frame today. We donât know yet what the principal in this story has done, is doing or will do. Iâve gone over this with you in the past but continue to fail to convey the fact that is is injust to punish a suspect based on a suspicion. You are angry with the principal for not punishing things he does not know happened. Justice is not holding a court and tben hanging all of the accused. You didnât want it for Leslie and should not want it for others. As of yesterday the only witness against anyone for anything to come before the principal is an unreliable incoherent Leslie Knox. Based on what the principal actually knows, the whole thing could be a hoax simply intended to avoid a math test..You say we would have to assume nobody tried to befriend Leslie since elementary school. We do not have to assume that, in fact we know for a fact that Rosa smiled at him and was polite him right up to the time he decided to have some fun with her by unwelcome touching and intimidation. If you could see with unprejudiced eyes, you would realize we do not have to assume repeated rejection must be the reason he is as he is. Argy covered it quite well..You demand I show you one person who does not hate Leslie, I guess because otherwise we absolutely MUST assume they do hate him. Letâs turn it around, show me one single person who actually, unquestionably DOES hate him.. Does Crystal hate him? Not that we can tell. Sheâs angry he hit her sweer baboo. You can go on and on about how he was justified in hitting, but that is still the sole source of Crystalâs expression of any emotion toward him..Does Oxford hate him? No. Although he does hate his action of trying to bully others. The rest of the time, there is no evidence he gives him any thought..Knute even hoped for Guntherâs personal effects after Leslie killed Gunther, no hatred, just the expectation Gunther would be dead..As to âpractically the whole schoolâ yelling at him when he tried to beat up Gunther, others might assume they disliked bullying, violence and disturbed socializing during a pleasant meal. And that is if we assume practically the whole school was there, another questionable but irrelevant assumption..Itâs a strange, strange world we live in
And you are entitled to your opinion that the principal is duty bound to âtry and understandâ every student who comes before him with any kind of complaint. I think some schools have over two thousand students and it would be impossible to understand all of them. Also, it would be like Moses trying to cross the desert but unable to move because of every complaint and demand of judgment taking up his every waking moment..And again and again and again I patiently repeat we do not know Leslie Knox has received any punishment from this principal for this unsubstantiated claim. We donât even know if Leslie has ever been punished in any manner for anything his entire life.
> it can make sense and be plausible without delving into background minutia.>But in this case, Leslieâs continuing to believe that there are cameras in the hallways (which is critical to the plot of his âreformationâ) makes no sense at all unless (or may even if!) we know just what he told the principal and was told in return.
> I think some schools have over two thousand students and it would be impossible to understand all of them.>He had time to allow Leslie to say his piece, during which (1) Leslie requested that he be suspended, (2) he admitted that he punched another student inside the school building, (3) he claimed he was acting in self-defense (meaning that the other student threatened him), (4) a girl was in the boysâ restroom, and (5) someone is making videos inside the school, specifically inside the restrooms. Then the principal is supposed to just say, âWhatever,â after hearing that? Heâs certainly not doing his job if he doesnât make an effort to lean more about what Leslie is saying here.
Iâ m sorry you had to face bullies in school. Iâm sorry any of us had to face them. I also tired of the principal telling me he could do nothing about my lunch-time tormentors who ran up and hit me while I sat by myself trying to read my Edgar Rice Burroughs books in peace.Even though I told him when and where it happened, he couldnât take time from the other duties the school board and state and federal government piled on him to deal with it unless I could identify them..In frustration, I grabbed one ere he could get away, carried him into Mr. Powersâ office and set the Leslie Knox wannabe on his desk, right smack down on top of the more important federally-mandated paperwork and said, âHere, this is one of them. Maybe he can tell you the names of the rest.â.By this point, you can probably imagine who Howard Eugene Powers was mad at and he still wasnât particularly helpful after I had done all his work for him..Yes, it was irritating but in his defense, had he not prioritized in compliance with the Escambia County School District, the state of Florida and the geniuses enforcing federal laws aimed at protecting the Leslie Knoxes of Century High School, he would have been fired and replaced with someone else who would follow their perverse priorities placing paperwork first..We all have memories of bullies and how the school system treated all involved.
âWell, he must have thought it was quite a joke cause it got a lot of laughs from a lot of folks, seems I had to fight my whole life through. Some galâd giggle and Iâd get red, some guyâd laugh and Iâd bust his head, seems I had tto fight my whole life through. " or something like that.Funny song but no real requirement an adult nut legally change his name or stay somewhere long enough that his name sounded normal, like Englebert Humperdink, an assumed name
I havenât read all the comments; maybe someone else has already asked the question, âWhat if he starts looking around for the cameras and finds that there arenât any?â
You donât have to buy it, you donât even have to disprove it.Others simply donât have to accept your presentation..Even so, it is interesting that in every case you insist on picking sides. You even insist others pick your side. You even insist the artist acknowledge your critique of his or her work..i can well see why you pick a similar person to favor. You acknowledge Leslie is a well known jerk and insist he must remain a jerk unless others take his side in his life of being a jerk. It would be reasonable to suspect projection.. And twisting! Oxford did not threaten to hit Leslie if Leslie touched Gunther. He threatened to hit him if Leslie hit Gunther. Touch and hit are not the same thing..Further, let us accept your assumption Oxford does indeed know Leslie, since that is a possibility. If he knows Leslie and assumes Leslie is at fault in wanting to hit the mousey kid, what does that tell us? It does not tell us he hates him, just that he does not like the things he does..You profess to not like the things Leslie does. Do you hate Leslie? Is that why you want him to continue, claiming he canât stop until others are in his corner?.Relatively big guy grabs smaller guyâs shirt in threatening manner. Small guy does not raise his hands or act intimidating in any manner.Read body language and even if you donât know the parties involved, nothing requires hatred to oppose the apparent aggressor.
Yes, you can assume whatever you are not told until told otherwise. The Assumption Police are on strike so you can make your assumptions, no matter how reasonable or unreasonable..But try to comprehend some silly few may not agree with your assumption. Those few may not even agree with your assumption Evans is a bad artist for engaging the imaginations of the readers..FREEDOM, NOT A REQUIREMENT
> Hightower knows heâs in for a suspension, so business gets transacted accordingly without the niceties of an inquiry>No need to inquire about an admission of an assault in school. No need to inquire about a claim of self-defense (and thus a threat from another student). No need to inquire about a report of a girl using the boysâ restroom. No need to inquire about reports of a video camera in a restroom. And Mr. Hightower gets paid for this?
Suppose every story ended âWhich did he pick, the lady or the tiger?â Thatâs OK sometimes, but if an author does that consistently, heâs basically asking the readers to write the stories instead of him. One begins to suspect that the author just paints himself into corners that he canât figure how to get out of, so he just leaves it to the readersâ imagination to assume that things somehow got resolved in an undisclosed fashion (which becomes frustrating) or were simply never resolved at all (which becomes boring).
âNot if he told them heâd kill them if they ever told.â-Assuming they would rather live a life of fear than make that call, knowing the rest of their lives Leslie might decide to carry out the threat..That is a very strange assumption, though.

In time it might become second nature. In time he might notice people acting friendlier toward him and realize there are benefits to civility.-If this is indeed the outcome, was the artist simplistic? Is it artsy enough for those who demand realism?.Is this another unforgivable lie on the part of Crystal even though it saves others his former bullying torment?-Stay tuned tomorrow, same bat time, same bat channel.

âput a camera on every light post & building, public space, malls and businesses, in fact pretty much everywhere except inside your dwellingâ-A camera in a public place is much like a policeman in that same public place without the poor eyesight, needs for toilet breaks, retirement, vulnerability to being shot and bribability or temptation thereof.-If it is used to tyrannize people through enforcement of petty laws, that shows the petty laws need to be rescinded lest we become a police state without police.

-with the prevalence of cell phones with cameras .. have installed hallway cams become unnecessary?-A lot of the school districts in Florida ban kids from carrying their cells during the day, because they canât control all the texting that goes on otherwise. âThe whole point is you canât force someone to change, they have to see the light and do it naturally themselves.â.Then it was misguided on the authorâs part.

Argy.Bargy2 about 11 years ago

Proof Oxford hates Leslie is that he threatens to hit Leslie if Leslie hits Gunther?FASCINATING

âWell, he must have thought it was quite a joke cause it got a lot of laughs from a lot of folks, seems I had to fight my whole life through.

Not nut, not.
