So she left the house all dressed for her walk and realized at the corner she was wearing her bathrobe? Better than going to the mailbox all nakedy.

Only the one on the right has Janis’ actual hair, I’m pretty sure.

I never liked tall hedges at street corners because they impede vision for walking and especially for driving.

Janis found her doppelganger, wonder if she’s married to Arlo’s doppelganger. Jane & Artie?

Hmmm….does this have anything to do with it being President’s Day? No trash pick up! No work today?

I make no observations (on behalf of Arlo) other than I once had a sweetie whose sister was almost identical in looks and dress habits.

It almost led to accidents that could have been either pure comedy or nasty trouble.

Well, I’m glad someone cleared that up, I was totally confused.

Arlo’s gonna be googlie-eyed trying to decide which to ogle. And I see this new one can wear those pants that Janis shunned last week. And if this one if young, and Janis imagines her as the daughter she never had, the mothering impulse will take hold with a vengeance. Potential rich mine of plot material.

This reminds me of the old Dunkin Donut’s commercial where the baker would get up to make the donuts and on the fifth day he bumps into himself coming home from making the donuts.

That doesn’t look quite like Janis…….. wonder if this could be a flashback episode, of a younger her?

They will both have amnesia? This was a pretty strange sort of turn of events.

Janis is the one in the purple/grey coat.

In the first panel, especially, the one in the light blue coat has features that look slightly more like Meg’s and those of the other people drawn in that style

JJ has our attention now, with what appears to be a unique plot line.

No idea what this means Do people really not look both ways when they are at an intersection?

Since the new do (a decade or so ago), Janis’ hair is always (famous last words) done with solid black strokes.

Dream sequence? Or, as @Matt implies, Arlo bought enough costume stuff to dress up as her convincingly?

Janis has got herself coming and going…

I smell new character.

I thought only New Yorkers did that.

I’ve waiting on someone to provide me the “Ah, that’s what Jimmy was getting at.” But it seems everyone is just putting out their best guess.

New neighbor who looks just like Janis, right down to the snout?

The person in the first three panels is obviously a younger woman. It’s hard to tell with a comic, but she looks to be in her late teens to early twenties to me.

Maizing is right! I think Janis, feeling like her younger self, “bumps” into the reality of the self she is today.

I still say they are going to have temporary amnesia, and the real Janis will temporarily adopt the other woman’s life and the other woman will become Janis temporarily. It is a standard “comedic” entertainment use of amnesia occurring in people who look like twins but are genetically unrelated.
