How ironic, since the whole ideo of Heaven and St. Peter waiting there at the gates to let you in is a religious concept, is it not?

I bet there’s NO POLITICS either!

" . . . AN eternity.".How many eternities are there? . . . one for each of the “infinite number of multiple universes"?In that case we could each have our own universe with our own religion and, by necessity, our own monarchy.

Having thought about this, I’ve decided it’s time to take a nap.

I read a book once where they postulated that the entire reason there is such a lot of war and death and unhappiness in the world is because somebody once decided it was a good idea for them to claim knowledge of what is good and what is bad and presumed the responsibility to enlighten others. It is generally considered a fairy story. There’s a lot more, but it’s all about the same as that first bit.

No religion? Sounds like “Heaven” to me!

Sorry, but the only way people would get along in heaven is if there were no people. They don’t need politics or religion to argue about. They can argue about a comic strip, for example…

Who’s at the podium? The Christian/Catholic Saint Peter, right? So, for the vast majority of religious people things have already got off wrong.

Well, I don’t expect ever to face this situation, or to face any situation after I’m dead.But if it turns out that I’m wrong, and I actually find myself waiting to enter Heaven or Hell, maybe I’ll need it another word than “religion”.

What about us weirdoes who grew up in New York, and now live outside of Boston, and like both teams?

Quantum theory posits that there really are multiple universes….Seriously, real science!…Well, where would those infinite universes be? Way far away? Or right next to us?……..infinity near? Maybe it’s like a rainbow…..Different colors, but no line between them, no separation…I think we’re some shade of blue…..

Interesting. The people verbally attacking religion are blaming religion for violence and mayhem.Sort of how they like to blame the weapon but not the person behind it.

There is a huge difference between faith/spirituality and religion. I believe in faith and spirituality; I have a hard time with the rigidity of religions.

I rarely comment because I hate to type. But this time I will go to the effort. Religion isn’t the problem. The problem comes from people using differences, albeit race, religion, sex, age, height, or even stars on the belly (thanks Dr. Seuss) to make themselves feel superior to others. The main idea behind most religions is to try to be a better person and not hurt others, but people use it to prove that their way is the right way, the only way. That is what is wrong.

It’s always a wonderful Monday when Danae week is finally over and I get to look forward to the good week of Non Sequitur.

Those who think that mankind would be all peaceful and loving as long as there is no religion and basic needs are provided for, have clearly never belonged to a parenting group or an HOA.

That’d be cool. Great city with wonderful museums, music, the most public art of any city in the world, amazing architecture, culture, sports, universities, public transit system, and lots of sites where history was made, the best cheese-steaks and soft pretzels,and lots more. Nice size too easy to walk around, good scale. You could do a lot worse than spend eternity in my home town.

Did you ever notice that when religion is characterized as bad for everyone, (and rightly so) that the religious nutjobs get busy with their apologetics? Such as those here denying “organized religion”, but that we have to accept the universal truths of religious teachings? That within itself is an oxymoron.

The few scientists who believe in a Grand Design are either still brainwashed or associated with the Sir John Templeton Foundation.

Religions (organized) and politics (organized) are twin organizations created by Man to command power over all other members of Mankind with myth and/or propaganda. Oh, yes, there’s that other tool: fear.

Prefer the “secular Buddhhist” route of using loving kindness toward all others and well, all the Earth and rest of the universe. Compassion and conquest of self, rather than others, is indeed a hard philosophy for humanity.

The “afterlife” is where think we go until we learn what the universe is really all about.

Hmm each religion has their own idea of heaven. And usually in those heavens are people of the same beliefs. And if you don’t have a religion, well, after death there is nothing.

What is Real? those things that do not go away just because you stop believing in them..here is food for thought:what ever it is you choose to believe ask this:.“How well does it serve to further all life in the entire universe?”

my own experiences are what I believe in.My Dad came to me on his way out. I heard him clear as day. he called my name and said “HI” in the Happiest voice Ever! . I was in the shower, not some dream.. he scared me so I grabbed the shower curtain! it was at the time he died I heard him. .I have had more experiences with others since then, and not always just at the moment they leave the body. One friend of mine had been cremated and buried but she made her presence felt. I’m telling you this because it’s True.I don’t give a rat’ behind if anyone believes me. just in case there are some people who will believe me and because of the immense amount of strength it has given me I will share this most intimate experience in short form.I was in her bathroom after the funeral & burial.all of a sudden I felt not a physical hug but a hug = the Love you feel when someone hugs you. It was her,, I know that hug! but it was even greater = more love in that hug, it was as if she was thanking me for all the love I ever gave her in life.“thank you! now I know what you gave me. Thank You!” it was so stunning and unexpected. I looked at the mirror across the room. nothing. no visuals. It was myHeart that felt her. for what ever that is worth to who ever reads this let me say to you, for me it’s worth so much! it means you DO remain who you were! as hard as we work on our relationships with people, it’s Not a waste at all!.here is the message I took from itNo Love ever given is wasted. even if they didn’t appreciate it = no love ever given is wasted so dont be stingy with yours ;)

There is of course no magical paradise for dead human apes. Heaven is a just a fantasy for cowards.

Mark Twain’s “Extract From Captain Stormfield’s Visit to Heaven” should be required reading for all believers, non-believers, and the in-betweeners.

Religion is just scaffolding. The religion of anyone who would kill someone else because they use scaffolding different from theirs is in actuality an idol worshiper – idolitry is the number 1 religeon in the world with most of its’ followers unaware they are members. When one builds what the scaffolding was erected for, the scaffolding is removed, not worshipped !!

It is odd that so many “atheists” deny religion, are often the most vocally intolerant. “Secular humanists” by and large don’t go for organized religions, but are more tolerant than those “atheists” or religionists.

Right! Authoritarian systems all. In state religions to question belief is treason, in invisible man religions it’s heresy. Free thinking strictly prohibited with punishment either in the gulag or hell.

Makes sense. To be a Christian does not mean to be religious but to have a relationship with God through Jesus Christ who died for my sins. The great thing about Heaven: I don’t have to look out for number one any longer.

in the books that are a part of the set from the link above they say how you can see in a birth chart the ability to hear from the spirit world. mine is a “feel good” aspect so most always the messages I get are not scary.
