Jocks and cheerleaders: they so (stereotypically) go well together.

This is great. Luann’s now free from Jack’s scrutiny, probably for the long haul. And Tiff may have just found her significant other. But this also frees up Luann to contemplate her romantic future for herself, instead of playing games to impress Tiff.

I just remembered – I had a football player friend in college who was an art major. He had an easel in his dorm room and was always painting between games.

A meeting of non – minds.

Tiff – if you throw yourself at him any harder, it will be worse than any hit he as taken in any football game.

Well, so much for the idea that the kids went home between when Luann called Jack and when he arrived at the school.

Luann is a typical woman, not interested in a man until another woman is.

Hmmmm a bit complicated here. Luann does not want to pursue a relationship with Jack, but Tiffany is clearly interested, and now that the cheerleader and the football player seem interested in each other, or at least communicating their mutual similarities, now Luann may be jealous of Tiffany!! Stay tuned though, we still don’t know which way this arc will go.

And next Luann will seek out Pru for a shoulder to cry on.

No. NO. Please DON’T Tell Me that Luann is about to get Jealous over some Guy that She doesn’t have the slightest Bit of Interest in.

Real world stuff: Jack dates Tiffany once – and then tells Luann, “Tiffany’s really cute – but she’s not too bright.” (Ouch!).

sigh… Luann getting jealous over Tiffany talking to a guy she [Luann] doesn’t even like. It’s like I’m watching the CW.

Too easy if Jack and Tiff go for each other. I still say Jack may surprise us and be a good guy for Luann. He seems really interested in being with her, whereas Quill put theatre over Luann.

Tiffany may want Jack as meat-candy at her side – for now. Her “long-term” plans regarding guys indicate otherwise, from earlier in this arc – that is, unless he’s rich.

Luann may not have wanted to date Jack but she liked the attention. I think she’s annoyed that Tiff just has to have any guy that shows Luann any attention.

Am I the only person who noticed that Jack’s hand is curled up into a fist when he is talking with Tiffany?

@SEISMIC: If you are concerned with real world conditions, consider the fact that Tiffany’s baiting of Luann during working hours is what HR departments consider to be ‘creating a hostile work environment’. The least that could be done to a worker who hassles a coworker is for them to be required to attend training sessions about avoiding the circumstances that would result in a hostile work environment, and receiving a poor job evaluation. In some work places, any time workers or supervisors observe someone creating a hostile work environment for another worker, even in the absence of a report by the bullied worker, this is grounds for termination. So the lack of any reprimand for your idol Trumpany, excuse me, Tiffany is also a ‘plot contrivance that is totally unrealistic’….

Hoist by her own petard… She called Jack to show Tiffany that guys really were interested in her.. then got cold feet, and now she has Tiffany stealing him away. No she was not interested in him, but liked the fact that he was interested in her. Now, all that is going in the crapper.

Luann is definitely displeased, probably annoyed that Jack is so easily led astray by another woman. She thinks he only has eyes for her. I hope Tiff and Jack do get together and work out as a couple. They both have many good qualities.

Trilogy: "Where are you all seeing that? I see her looking surreptiously as she deliberately takes her time with the child, so as to let the others interact and thus give Jack an alternate. " Luann is upset/mad about the situation indicated byher angry eyebrows and making more knots.

I am new to this and have been posting for maybe 4 weeks and am surprised that some of my postings disappear. I love how passionate and observant you are to the strip. There’s a lot more to this than just reading a quick comic strip. HOW do you all add a picture to your identity and where do you get them? HOPEFULLY I will be able to see this tomorrow.

Glad to see a story line that’s like the old high school days. If only these kids were still in high school and not (how many?) years into college…

My guess is that Luann gets mad at Tiffany for taking an interest in Jack. Tomorrow she blurts out that she CAN go out with Jack to see the band, leaving Tiff mad. She still doesn’t want to go “out” with Jack, but will do so just to keep Tiff from stealing someone who is clearly interested in her. Stay tuned!

Carpe Jockiem….

The more I look at the expression on Luann’s face, the less convinced I am that she is angry. I think when she’s drawn as angry, the eyebrows are much lower and her mouth is turned down. Here, she looks more like she’s listening intently to Tiffany and Jack talking, and maybe chewing on her lower lip to keep from saying anything.

It would be very interesting if tomorrow’s ‘toon shows her turning to the two of them and agreeing that it would be good if Tiffany could go with Jack to hear his buddy’s band, and, meanwhile, Luann will see Jack and his dog later this week at the dog park. I can imagine the befuddled look on Tiffany’s face if that would happen…

Jack the jock is interested in anything he can get his hands on. Hopefully, tomorrow he and Tiffany will be headed out the door together…. Cut to the end of the week with Luann and Bern in Luann’s bedroom analyzing why she (Luann) felt jealous that Tiiff was grabbing a guy that she didn’t even want….. or maybe together w/ Dez and her Ouji board.

Leave to Luann to be a slight bit unhappy that Tiffany is horning in even when Luann has no interest in Jack as a BF.

Whether or not Jack the jock and Tiffany the (ex-)cheerleader will hit it off remains to be seen. But I suspect this will be a one-and-done experience, and that Jack will be drawn back to Luann.

Besides, I would really like to see the more mature Tiffany and Gunther pair off….

Go ahead Jack, give Tiff a whirl, it might be a nice surprise for both of you. Whatever, I’d just like to see Tiffany actually on a real date.
