What happened yesterday?

marriage: ‘tis all about communication (no, not constipation in T.J.’s case)

I know what happened to that trash can, but I am too squeamish to mention it specifically. I prefer to go back to what I think is the underlying theme of this arc, which is that TJ will have to move. Ewww!!

Stet. He moves bowels and all.

They could put a privy chamber (toilet and sink) in TJ’s bedroom.

Poor trash cans! The lowest of the low.

Sharing a bathroom can be sexy – but not when it’s time to poop…

In the third panel, Toni’s mouth is wide open and the blowdryer is making a WHOOOOO sound. At first glance, I thought Toni was auditioning as a siren for the firetruck.

It tells us a lot that Brad’s great pride in his married life is sharing a bathroom with someone like Toni. And of course to put that point across, Evans takes that moment to shrink Toni’s towel.

Good jump from the bang bang bang on the door – to Brad with sexy Toni and the hair dryer. I can’t think of any good way to actually play out that situation.

Again, looking at the third panel – kind of makes one wonder if Greg drew Toni and finally added the towel. Gives a whole new definition to “throwing in the towel”.

Don’t know how Brad thinks anyone could understand him, speaking with a toothbrush in his mouth.

When drawn from the front, Brad’s nose always looks like a pig’s.

So where is this arc leading? Brad seems fine with all of this…… Will Toni announce she is pregnant? What will be the weekly culmination tomorrow or Saturday?

So where is this arc leading? Brad is fine with sharing the apartment with TJ and Toni. How does Toni feel? Will she announce she is pregnant so they have to move? There must be a purpose to this toilet-arc. Conclusion tomorrow or Saturday.

So Toni didn’t mind having her nice relaxing bath interrupted by TJ having a bout of explosive diarrhea, which she was forced to witness? That’s weird.

If that were me I’d be sitting Brad down and saying, “Either TJ moves out or I do.”

That bathroom looks huge. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a place with a huge bathroom that had only one.

Also, Wow. The time that Brad said a ‘romantical’ thing….and Toni not only not heard it… But also unwittingly provided the proper comedic ‘moment killer’!

Nearly reminiscent of the “I Love You, Man!” Budweiser commercials… In a sort of ‘squint your eye and lean slightly left’ sort of way…

This would be funnier if Greg Evans still drew Brad like a dork.

Toni and the Tiny Towel sure makes a man feel like a man.

But what is the Sequence of Events since yesterday, if Brad and Toni are in the (only?) bathroom in the house? Did TJ use it and freshen the air afterwards? Did he explode and Go Away for good? What?

Dear, dear … All this ‘potty humor’!! Brad may be liking the view, but things are gonna go down the pooper! Three folks in a small, one bathroom house is the new American Standard??!! Toni does NOT think so, and WON’T (unfortunately) throw in the towel! It’s clear B&T will be talking soon, and things WILL come to a head! :)

Basically, today it seems that Brad was being nice and giving Toni a pleasant, gentle complement. Unfortunately, Toni likely heard none of the complement due to the damn noise of the hair dryer.

Just a tiny, minor incongruency (at least I think it is)… I am presuming Toni just finished bathing (and apparently washed her hair in the process (since she is drying it now). But, she has her “fancy” lips on…. at least to me, it seems like she is wearing lipstick. Now, I cannot say for sure, because I am not female, nor do I wear lipstick…. but with the hair drying behavior Toni is engaging in… I would presume she would not have put on her lipstick before drying her hair, but would have done so after. While it is a minor point, for sure, the reason I thought of it, was that I would have liked to have seen Toni without lipstick once, in the same fashion we were able to see Tiffany that one time without all her makeup and lipstick.

One more brief comment (a funny aside, at least to me): It is interesting that in the English version of “Luann” the hair dryer makes a sound of “Whooooooo” whereas in the Spanish version, the hair dryer makes a sound of “Brrrrrrrrrrr”. I always find it interesting to compare the two versions.

Time for another arc about Luann. She’s very sweet – but with enough issues to be human…

Must not be too many married couples, specifically men, who comment on this strip. It’s obvious that Brad is trying to minimize, by being so gratuitously happy about how lucky he is to married to a babe like Toni, while what he is really doing is trying to deflect her rather sharp question about what happened to the trash can? That is a story inside the arc, on so many levels: first Brad will do this with Toni from time to time, when he is trying to deflect her, and any married male will know about that little dance, Toni is trying to get to what is really going on here, and the issue of TJ living there, and all that portends; this is a rich, very rich arc, but so many are focused on the toilet part, that they totally miss the real picture here.

There are all kinds of marriages. What matters is Toni’s happiness with Brad.

TJ brings happiness in his own unique way. For instance, he fumigated for insects this week. All left gasping for fresh air.

They could wall off the toilet area, so it’s separated from the rest of the bathroom.

It just occurred to me…Toni must’ve bought the “Ric Flair Signature Limited Edition Hair Dryer”. Guaranteed to go: “Whooooooooo!” ……or at least a little bit of your money back.

I hope Brad is mature enough to understand he needs to see to his wife’s comfort and needs over those of his buddy. If Toni is uncomfortable with TJ around then Brad needs to help TJ find other arrangements.
