Why does Adam Sandler get to make movies? Oh, right,…money.

I don’t know either. Haven’t seen any of them. I looked up the list of his movies, just to be sure. But then, I haven’t seen “Titanic” either and stopped going to “Star Wars” after the fifth one. Long scenes of death and/or destruction don’t bring me much.

I am guessing many people think that after life there follows only emptiness, while many others think in terms of either an after life, or a heavenly harbor from life cares, or a space in which one might still connect to the living.

As of today, there have been no corroborations of either so one’s hope is based on what one feels and that’s ok. Whatever gets one through the years.

As to Tarantino, have seen maybe 2 he directed. Had they been really good I would have seen more, so IMO, they were just average. Same for Sandler and others mentioned above, except in his case, I have actively avoided even coming close to them.

I keep asking myself the same thing.

@carol athena costa: good comment. Reminds me of a one-season but very funny and quirky tv series Eerie Indiana that had one episode devoted to lost socks. Very well done. Could use more like it now in place of the situation comedies that are rotting the air waves nowadays.

I’d really like an answer to that last one. Seems all the foods I love want to kill me in my old age.

Well, going with the story, if Tarantino lives a good life and goes to Heaven, he’ll be allowed to make movies there as part of his eternal reward. But they’ll only get shown in Hell.

Tarantino makes movies for 13 year old boys.

Foods that’s bad for you. Given that heaven is supposedly eternal and foods that are good / bad for you changes every few years, what is the answer to this question?

I have the answer to the new study on high blood pressure: I’ve stopped listening to the studies. A coupe of weeks ago, they told me that I’ll get cancer because I drink alcohol. A decade ago they told me red wine was good for me. Are eggs good or bad today?

One more mystery: who watches those hundreds of nondescript movies on netflix?

In heaven, angels debate how many Tarantinos dance on the head of a pin. He gets to make more movies because his producer is Harvey Weinstein. Uh, used to be Harvey Weinstein.

Tarantino movies contain less violence than the Bible and are more believable.

Because they’re good, and more importantly, make money for the backers.

I’d like to see “Quentin Tarantino’s Bible Stories” just up his alley.

He has the same warped sense of humor I have – just re-watched Hateful Eight and laughed thru the entire movie!!!

Watched the movie Nashville while on a remote mountain top in Korea in the late 70s. Being remote the movies were set up in the chow hall and we had 1 person operating the projector. After each reel we took a vote whether or not to continue watching. By the time the last reel was ready to watch it was very late at night and we were all pretty p.o.’ed at a movie apparently about nothing. We all felt we wasted an entire evening, one half us us could have been sleeping. Our Korean contingent all spoke quite good english and they were all wondering about that movie also. So 29 out of 29 people thought the entire movie was a total waste of time. But, come morning we sent it over to the next mountain top site.The question I would ask, whop made the Movie Nashville and why? a waste of 3 hours none of us would ever get back

If we haven’t learned the secret to all of life’s great mysteries when we’re alive, we’ve missed our one and only opportunity.

I’m kind posting this here at this time for a reason, but I lost my Zen, that is my Giant Shetland Pony on the 25th of October. It was not only a hard decision, but an extremely emotional, and physically exhausting half of a week. I had hoped he would be with me for a few more years, but it was not to be.

My Zen will remain my avatar here, and in my heart forever, but he is gone and the barn and my life will never be the same again without him.

Here’s hoping I’ll see him again, if only in my last of life hallucinations and dreams.

What a stupid point you chose to make! Of ALL the movie directors or actors you could have criticized, you pick on Tarantino, one of our most talented and original filmmakers?! His movies may not be for everyone, but those who like his stuff will tell you that they are extremely well-written, well-cast, well-filmed, and wildly entertaining.
