Coming Soon đ At the beginning of April, youâll be
introduced to a brand-new GoComics! See more information here. Subscribers, check your
email for more details.
LOL â mine have tried that. And then I have to remind them that they have indeed been fed and that I was the one who fed them so I remember. Their facial expressions seem to say, well it was worth a try.
Hello everyone!! Here is a fun thing about this storyline: These strips were from the time I was developing the comic for newspapers! They were drawn and inked very close to how the comic is created now, and so I thought Iâd include them as they were. Not only as a fun news story, but also so you could all have a peek at what some of the sample stories I wrote looked like! Youâll see a few slight differences over this broadcast, that I hope are a fun glimpse into what went into preparing the comic for daily strips. For instance, I had to add my signature later to a few of these because I was not signing them yet. And a few of the strips will have the text hand written, vs the font I eventually created from my own handwriting. I hope you enjoy it, and thank our AV cat for more found footage!
If you catch her before she has her coffee, this plan has a chance of working! However, once she and the man compare notes it might backfire into, âGo to bed without any supper!â
Georgia, you are so on point with this one! Our 3 do this all the time with their morning and evening treats. Iâll get up early on the weekend to âtreatâ them so Leo (the town cryer) wonât wake up âthe manâ and then I fall back to sleep and he does the same later. Sneaky little furballsâŠ
Good orb bumps requested this morning for my Good Girls. Niko, who really hates travel, is making another trip to the vet today because they need to get the urine sample they couldnât get last week to test for thyroid problems and Lily is going to the vets for a biopsy on a lump between her shoulder blades, Praying that itâs anything other than the vetâs worst fear that it is something called âinjection site sarcomaâ This vet is not the one who Lily saw when she was a kitten, so no one is sure where her early shots were injected.
My senior kitty lives at my parents house (because my younger kitty is very aggressive towards other cats and would not leave my senior alone). Their dog tries for second breakfast pretty much every day. And my senior loves when the humans âfall for itâ because that means more wet food for him too! Georgia, you seriously nailed this!
To bottlescope: Iâm behind in reading my comics. This is what you posted on January 18.
âAfter reading through all these comments could gocomics put an extra button next to the Blue comments button did go back to top of page rather than having to scroll back upâ
On Windows computers, press Ctrl and Home keys simultaneously. Iâm sure there is something similar for other operating systems.
BWAHAHAHAHA! This is SO true to life. At our house, the good girls know that I will feed them when it is time to feed them. But they also know that our Man canât stand being nagged and will give in almost instantly.
Good morning and a happy Monday to all BCN orbsters. Iâm sending warm and loving orb hugs, bumps and boops to all who need or want them. (Is it possible to boop oneself?)
Advantage of having two cats tgat arenât food obsessed: they can help themselves to kibble and donât wake me up to be fed.
Disadvantage: Iâm buried under a pile of comatose felines and theyâll grumble and make me feel horribly guilty for disturbing them when I need to get up.
Every one knows that if you can see the bottom of the bowl at all, there are no crunchies in the Entire Universe. Hereâs proof (insert Puckâs chart here.)
I love this! Second breakfast often happens in this house when the Man leaves for work and the woman (aka, me, the worldâs laziest example of cat staff) doesnât get up right away and in my coffee deprived stupor work on auto pilot and provide my Wooly Mammoths with the much desired and greatly plotted for Second Breakfast.
My guy has free-choice kibble and twice-a-day portions of canned food, which he LOVES. On occasion, I forget the afternoon portion and my normally-aggressive boy comes to me with a kind of, âExcuse me, and I hate to bother you, but did you forget something?â Just very self-effacing (or sarcastic â I donât know which), whereas my 100-lb. Golden Retriever always tries to pull the âI-havenât-been-fed-yetâ trick. I have to put a post-it note in his empty bowl to remind me that he HAS been fed!
Common occurrence when members of the family leave at different times of the morning. Weâve long had the habit of saying âGoodbye, and I fed the cats.â Because they WILL insist that no, Dad-person didnât feed them, Sionyx didnât feed them, pleeeese, Mom-person, feed us! Changes in family and work schedules have rendered this less common now, I almost miss it.
We had a house rabbit years ago that would con us into âsecond breakfastâ. Since food intake in rabbits has to be carefully monitored, we took to leaving sticky notes. âDonât let the little con artist fool you, sheâs been fed.â
My momâs 2 boys, Mac and Morrie, used to get away with this all the time after Mom developed dementia â she couldnât remember whether sheâd fed them or not, so as soon as they mowed at her sheâd feed them again! I started coming by once a week to do her grocery shopping for her, and one time I bought her 24 cans of cat food on a Sunday evening â and she called me up that Thursday to say she was out of cat food already!
Once my wife and I moved in with Mom to take care of her, that came to a screeching halt, of course. I simply took over the feedings, and I remembered whether Iâd fed them or not, so they got fed twice a day, period. Iâm sure they were disappointedâŠ

I have a feeling that the Woman will be greeted with pitiful meowing and circling of the food bowls. Tragic expressions will add to the pathos.

Elvisâs expression seems to indicate that âOperation Second Breakfastâ will involve some Oscar worthy performances.

For this to be believed they will need to wake the Woman up. No starving cat ever let their Person sleep.

One of the clients i worked with for a time had a male cat that was, shall we say, round.
The lady had 24 hour care, so there were several caregivers there each day.
I suspect that each caregiver was putting food in the bowl when they came on shift and found the poor kitties food bowl empty.
XD
Most caregivers are pet people. You got to be because of the fact that we encounter so many different pets doing this job.

We took to leaving notes on top of our catâs kibble jar: âThe cat has been fed. Accept no lies.â

I put up a small calendar by the food bowl and we put in a checkmark when they are fed.
