Maybe she wasn’t looking for a prince to rescue her and was merely taking a nap in her home? That’s the problem with not having the full story, things can quickly be taken out of context.
For some reason I got something totally different out of this. The person laying down looks like a kid to me, so the implication would be that the prince of sleep was putting kids to bed and is now in trouble for breaking and entering and sexual harassment of a minor.
I took it as sleeping beauty. The prince kisses the sleeping maiden to wake her up. These days that would be obvious inappropriate behaviour since a sleeping person would be unable to consent which made his advances inappropriate.
WOW!! Didn’t take long for comments to get into the dirt. What’s not to understand? Prince of Nod, wakes up Sleeping Beauty and loses his Sandman title, Probably picks up work as Mr. Sunshine later on.
What happened in the original story couldn’t be printed in the comic section of a family newspaper. (Let’s just say Beauty was awakened when one of her twins removed the spindle from her finger by suction. And there was no prince around by that time.)
Why is it that commentary on comics has to evolve into political BS any more? Satire is satire. That’s what comics are for…and commentary on the foibles of humanity. Walt Kelly and Al Capp must be turning over in their graves. If you want to spout off, write a letter to your newspaper editor or blather on your Facebook page and leave the rest of us alone.

She knew what she was doing sleeping with an open window.
And the king owns a company that makes iron grillwork.

His behaviour (kissing a sleeping beauty) is entirely appropriate for a fairy-tale prince. Get over it… ;-)
