Oh, what makes you, Tara, and Jack Very Important People, Luann? (What a dimwit Jack was there going down only two rows.)

I hope they’re not moving before the event has started.

Jack moves while Luann and Tara just continue sitting there? Why would there be VIP seats in the upper deck where they are sitting? Confusing.

Geeze, Jack. There’s a difference between “playing it cool” when you’re with the ladies, and playing it STUPID, which YOU are doing right now. I mean, one shouldn’t exactly leave the ladies behind like that.

But STILL, everybody is getting along so far. Now just imagine if Tiffany had been invited. She’d have WEDGED herself between Jack and Luann, drooling all over him and clinging to him like a cheap suit. Kinda like way she was last August at the Kiddie school. And she would have been Competing with Luann and Tara. The “Entertainment” would have ended up in the stands and not down on the track.

And have a Care claiming those VIP seats Luann. The Owners sometimes like to show up late. But if one of those VIPs is for Elwood, I’m gonna HURL……..,

VIP? They watch these seats and will ask for your VIP passes. Better make another selection – the non VIP ones. The naivety of the youth thinking they could get away with things. They probably won’t care if they move closer if there are actually empty seats. But, by all means, move to the non VIP seats and have fun. I did that at the Phoenix Suns games and WWE. At one Phoenix Suns game, we got stuck at the nosebleed section because all lower seats were taken. Even with large TV screens, I could hardly see the game. It was a big game against a rival so tickets were sold out and apparently everyone showed up – too bad! Heh.

Great, now they’re gonna get kicked out for trying to see monster trucks closer. What a lame reason to get kicked out of somewhere!

If they move down to the VIP seats, they stand a chance of having a truck end up in their laps.

When they get to the VIP seats, they will find Tiffany already sitting there.

Maybe they will run into Ann Eiffel & Tom Farrell in the VIP seats. Time to bring some of these players back out on the field.

Quite certain there would be some sort of guard, or check for vip seats.

They might be able to sneak to better seats, but only if Jack takes his earplugs out and stops shouting.

Well we got Luann back - Jack ? ! ? How about Bernice. What about Delta haven’t seen her in a longtime.

You can try to do that only after the show has started, Luann.

I called it yesterday. now what happens when there are not enough people? does everyone have great seats OR do they cancel the show?

I think we just found our muscled up version of Gunther. And it looks like Tara is his Tiffany. So that makes Luann the third wheel.

And Luann seems a bit dimwitted too. Or judging by her sheepish smile she could be on to Tara and trying to help her.

More important than how far down they seat hop, what’s with the guy facing the wrong way in the first panel?

Sports facilities come with two separated seating areas nowadays. One for the VIP’s, and a larger area for those paying for the VIP seating.

KEN mentioned above the possibility of running into Ann Eiffel and Tom Farrell Tiffany’s Dad, sitting, or Soon to be sitting in the VIP seats. We don’t know Tom but he doesn’t strike Me as being a “Monster Truck” guy. And Ann normally wouldn’t be caught dead at such an event either. UNLESS – Ann is there with Jack’s father, whom she’s also been dating on the “Sly” unbeknownst Tom. Upon discovery, Jack shouts “HEY that’s My Dad with his lady friend, Miss Eiffel!” Lu is shocked but composes herself long enough to record the whole thing on her smart phone, and gets it to a grateful Tiffany. Confronted, Ann is thwarted and leaves town for another 7 years and everybody except Gunter, lives happily ever after.

Now Where did these crickets come from?

So it’s LUANN who’s the trouble maker this time !!!!!

V.I.P. seats at the Monster Truck Show? It boggles the imagination! d8^D

I like the idea of one guy dating both girls. But what I really think is going to happen is Jack and Luann will wind up in some situation in each others arms and locking lips

who in their right mind wants to be front and center at a Monster Truck rally???? I assume that by the end of this, Luann will be covered with mud/dirt……

Some MMA cage fighter tells Jack “Yer sittin’ in my seat!” Jack says, “WHAT???”

I find Jacks naivety charming. Doesn’t have such a huge entitled ego that would tell him to go all the way down to the front.

Of course, pay for the cheap seats then sit in the VIP seats. Great idea, what could possibly go wrong?

So…. most folks are assuming Jack is being a bit of “dunce” here by moving ahead two or three rows. But, I am thinking another angle may be that Jack is just purposefully being silly and foolish to egg on Tara and Luann…. and he really knew what was meant by moving down.

Other thoughts:

1. From my manner of thinking, the back seats would be preferred to me (along with INDUSTRIAL STRENGTH ear plugs). But, for folks who really want to be at the Monster Truck event, closer would be better.

2. Strangely, for a Wednesday, no real inkling of where this is heading. It just seems like several casually drawn panels representing a “plot-less” activity. I wonder…. thinking of the lag time from when this was drawn…. it was probably drawn in and around close to the end-of-Summer Labor Day season. Perhaps this arc is representing Greg’s thoughts/emotions during the lazy-hazy end of Summer quiescence that many of us feel at that time of year?

3. If the plot line IS about something happening as they move into their non-purchased “VIP” seating… what may transpire? Will they get into trouble for moving there? (It seems unlikely, or at worst, they would be told to go back to their original seats.) Will they end up meeting someone down there that will dramatically shape the plot (For example, newly married Ann & Tom “Cat” Ferrell (not likely), or Piro & Bernice (nah, does not seem either of their “things”), or Crystal & Knute (maybe, but still unlikely as to what cause))

4. Other than some potential and very unlikely calamity of some sort (ie a Monster truck rolls over Luann’s newly healed foot or some such thing)…. I am at a loss for any other ideas of what is next.

We will have to wait and see.

I can’t believe it…another vacuous and pointless plot in this strip.

The girls want to sit closer. Perhaps they might talk Jack into taking his own truck and entering the fray. That way, they will be right in the middle of things.

This is just a date without any sexual overtones. Something not involving romance is likely to occur. Tara, nude model and commando, may expand her sense of adventure and get into one of those trucks. Just picture Slim Pickens riding that A-bomb in Dr. Strangelove. Yee-haw, ride ’em, Tara.

Late post again. I wonder what the VIP seats will lead too? That seems the one thing that is different, other than Jacks’ yelling because of his ear plugs.

There are a lot of comics here and some have pretty good art, including Greg, but Brooke McEldowney’s Pibgorn is really a couple of notches above the others. I do not know how he adds the color, it looks like the air brush technique used on cars. This is the only place that I see it.

Wasted money and time…

Not as dim witted as they’ll be if they try to encroach on those VIP seats! Best case scenario they’ll be politely asked to leave. Worst case they’ll be thrown out. Or the seats could belong to a surprise guest who invites the trio to join him/them. Can’t wait to see what happens next.

Why does an idea that looks so good on paper usually end in disaster?
