Hmmm. Jack’s level of concern for Tara is a tad higher than I thought it would be.

Someone speculated yesterday that a Tara and Jack hook up would keep Luann free for future drama.

Methinks they hit the nail on the head!

Perhaps Jack did Luann right and forgot to send the study date to Tara

So, it looks like it’s just Luann and Jack “Studying.”

I wonder how much “Studying” Jack and Luann will Actually Do?

And if Nancy will later “interrupt” them with milk and cookies at a crucial moment?

She’ll be no-show as expected.

With Tara, the only thing that you can be certain of, is that there is nothing you can be certain of.

Could definitely be a setup. How are they going to study without notes? What are two people who seem to be attracted to each other going to do all alone?

I think Jack was supposed to bring Tara with him.

My guess: Jack isn’t going to hook up with Tara. Na. If he has any attraction to Luann at all he knows that a hook up with Tara would be a deal breaker. If Luann didn’t know Tara, maybe. Come on. You guys were in college once. You do not hook with a “friend of a friend” until you are ready to leave that group alone.

First I hope nothing really bad is in store for Tara, but I doubt it. She is a bit feckless, but charming. I think she may very well have held back anyway because she wants them to be together more. Little Ms. Yente I think might be appropriate. Tara is one of those friends for Luann, like Dez is for Bernice, perceptive for her new friend far more than the friend is perceptive about herself. I think they both are concerned about Tara though, which shows they are real friends to her. My prediction, which is about as valid as the MONSTERS OF THE MIDWAY going to the Superbowl this YEAR!! (sorry can’t help myself) is that Jack and Luann get closer by a stage, that the parents will love Jack (parents can’t help rating their children’s possible romantic relationships either) and Tara will be okay, but hilarity will ensue.

Luann is more upset about Tara being late than Jack being late. She will make a good teacher.

Superman brought an extra big bag today.

Let Tera fail, if she shows up great if not don’t worry. With Luann’s notes they should do fine but don’t give Tera any more notes for future classes.

I smell a cheating scandal in the wind. Tara will want to copy / get answers from LuAnn or Jack and they will get in trouble. Tara won’t care.

Wait. I thought Luann had class notes of her own. No? Then it’s her fault. We all know where this is heading anyway… and passing a test is not in the conversation.

I think this strip is just a device to raise the suspense level re Tara. 1) She’s left at a party that was unsavory to Luann and suspicious to Jack. 2) She’s then incognito for a period of time such that her missing class is noted. 3) Her excuse for all this is somewhat lame. 4) Now she may be a no show for a prearranged get together.

Of course, we’re all thinking “What’s up with Tara?”

Let’s see, now. Either Frank, or Nancy or BOTH, Entering the “study room” with a hearty:

“Oh! You must be Jack!” In 3…..,2…,1…..,

Someone may have already said this but Tara never agreed to study group. This arc is all about Jack and Luann getting closer towards something.

Luann seems mighty pleased with either Jack’s arrival or about his appreciative comments.

“You’ve Got it all.” When will he appreciate that; relationshipwise?

Could be a plan by Tara.

The Jack we’ve seen is far too loyal to be hooking up with Tara while courting Luann. If he did it would be the end of the Jack’s story and we’d never see him again after the two fight. Tara likewise would have to exit the strip. Greg has devoted too much strip time to developing these two just to throw them both away on some cheap drama.

Risk of unbridled passion.

To me, he looks like he thinks being alone with Luann is potentially awkward, not for anything real (I think we’ve seen enough of him to know that he can behave himself) but because of the possibility of scandal.

Looks like Tara is still hanging with “the wrong crowd,” the situation she claims got her in trouble at Moony U.

Me thinks that Jack was supposed to give a ride to Tara.

Luann’s parents are home and Brad could walk in at any time. I don’t think there will be any romance today. Have we ever seen Jack’s living situation?

As a public service, some fans might like to see what happened the first time a guy came over to “study” with Lu.

Of course, long time fans KNOW that little "favor"never got THAT guy anywhere. In Fact, THAT guy is currently living in Purgatory for a Crime he didn’t commit.

Tara is one of those people who could be murdered and dumped in a ditch, and nobody would look for her. They’d figure she was just being irresponsible when she didn’t show up to the places she was supposed to.

I have the impression that Tara’s absence is not casual and Jack knows something about it. GO TARA! Help your friends get together!

Tara doesn’t use time pieces.

I’ve been trying to decipher the expression on Jack’s face (ha ha… like I don’t have enough work to do already). I’ve concluded that it reflects annoyance (re: the notes) coupled with “…well that figures…”. I’m assuming that they agreed to study together after Jack gave Tara his notes as a means for him to re-access them. Now he seems mildly pissed off.

Oh Ho !! So they are going to end up studying “alone with each other”.

I don’t think Jack will do anything unless Luann makes the first move.

Jack is already “late” and Tara has yet to appear, if ever.
