I find sleeping plenty peaceful.

I once stayed up for 72 hours straight in my 20s. Not because I was trying to, was out of work and got so busy I lost track of time. That time just before the dawn when it’s still dark was anything but peaceful. That’s when most of the cars of people going to work would be going by.

All too often, that time just before sunup is when I go to sleep.

I stayed up at night to post early on the strip, rather than wake up in the morning.

More people don’t take advantage of a peaceful morning walk because they don’t want to follow a prune-filled goat down the sidewalk.

Actually us lunatics read this strip and AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!

Riiiight… It’s early to bed and early to rise, and your girl ’ill go out with other guys! (Honey, let me be your Salty Dog…)

Didn’t work for me anymore; now I start with kiwis then lactaid yogurt then oatmeal and finally a cup or two of caffeinated coffee (stimulates the gut).

I used to have a job delivering the community newspaper when I was younger. I’d get up at 3:30 am (so it wouldn’t bite into my normal day) to carry a big bag of papers around a neighbourhood or two. Good excercise, and quite peaceful.

Well, I’m up in the dark reading this. And the commenters above who are from North America presumably are too. Maybe not the best way to spend the morning, but I’m out of prunes.

Try a litre of water instead, Goat. The sloshing sound as you walk is quite soothing too… :D

Just call me a prune-filled goat. I’ve been getting up at 4:30-5am my whole life because that’s when one had to skate before school or work! Now I’m retired, but I STILL skate pre-dawn hours for exercise. Very peaceful…and only other nut jobs like myself on the ice that early. LOL.

Like the song said “Sun Rise …. Sun Set” both are great times of the day :-)

Hey Goat….that’s way too much info.

I like getting up early so I can drink my coffee and read GoComics while the house is quiet. The prunes are for lunch.

…and a root canal.

Goat…is Calvin’s dad.

He eats them regularly.

If more people got up early to enjoy the quiet of early morning, it wouldn’t be peaceful anymore.

I’ve been an early bird all my life. Retired now, still up at 4 or 5. LOVE the early morning peace and quiet!

Actually, I really do enjoy that time of day. Unfortunately, I’m also insanely tired then, too. I got to sleep in this morning and the missus is already playing her podcasts and doing the laundry. So it goes.

Just call me goat.

If many more people took advantage of it, it wouldn’t be so peaceful.

That peaceful time of the morning, is before the gang bangers wake up.

Being first one to tee off at the golf course is always the best.

Another advantage – I can have a popular trail all to myself for hours on a summer day, not seeing anyone until I head back down into the throngs of vacationeers.

When I was younger, I was a total night person. I would frequently see the sun come up because I’d been up all night. Now, I wake up before sunrise. It is nice.
