what else could there be to the story, Pru, regardless of standing up or sitting down?

Is that it?

Yup, Luann. It was it. The story of your life. We’ve watched your life story being cut short for years. Don’t you think it’s time to go past that?

The key phrase:

Prudence is not going believe that. After all, once Luann gets that coat off, it’s obvious she is wearing her ninja outfit.

Luann has the whole week to explain herself.

Meanwhile, back at the play house, Gunther makes more scraping and thudding noises as he attempts to put the screen back in the window. This time, though, the thud is Gunther falling out of the window. After unsuccessful attempts to get back through the window, he discovers (to his horror) that the front door is locked, and he doesn’t have his key. He stands shivering in his Capt. Picard jammies. To be continued…

Over on that other site, the posters have Pru talking Luann into marrying Gunther…

See, Luann – if you had stayed a little while longer, you would have had something REALLY exciting to tell Pru. Gunther’s mom would have come in to tuck you guys in and bring you milk and cookies.

In answer to her question she did have a fun time with Gunther, she is happier than she’s been in a long time.

Luann seems disappointed that she had to climb out Gunther’s window.

If we remember this whole arc started with Pru encouraging Luann to go over to Gunther’s and have a person to person experience, instead of electronic. Of course when she got there, they had a joint electronic person to person experience. I think the biggest thing Luann said in her three panel breathless description is not the jumping out of the window, then jumping back in, trying to pull a fast one over Les (why?) was “Gunther said I’m beautiful.” Women love compliments like catnip, as they should IMHO. The issue is what does it say about them, and in Luannverse what will this all mean? Pru will do a good job debriefing I hope/think, but we will still be left hanging. Will there be a redoubt to Gunther by the way? This is not over.

Bummer, really. Luann leads a boring life. If she really is pretty, they why aren’t any guys hitting on her? Other than slimeball-Les, that is.

Fooled me – it turned out Luann did enjoy her night out – even though she was basically harassed out of Gunther’s room.

Last night was a ruined night of a whole lot of nothing. A crazy night would have been if Les had walked in on Luann on top of gunther. Not necessarily mid “action” but just the innuendo.

I’m afraid Pru is a super feminist and might get all angry over Les’s behavior. But I’m hoping Pru will straighten Luann out – that Luann is maybe 20 years old and doesn’t have to hide when she’s with a guy.

I had a fun night. Dont wreck it.

Wow, so we’re gonna do a recap week to establish that nothing of import actually happened? Is Evans trying to camouflage another vacation week or something?

Only in the Luannverse. Months went by with no sign of Pru, except an occasional sighting at the Fuse. Various scenes set inside the DeGroot household, including the Christmas arc – no Pru. Now all of a sudden she has been living under their roof all along (harking back a few weeks to the beginning of this arc).

Pru really does look like Fritzi Ritz here. Does that mean Gunther is Sluggo?

Now..Luann’s spurt of details really does amount to making a mountain out of a molehill…..

Okay. Much to the dismay of many and the delight of some, this story arc continues! ;)

And YES, Pru is right. Luann enjoyed her time with Gunther. She can see it on Lu’s face.And in the last panel, by the look on Luann’s face, she’s disappointed that nothing more happened that night, between her and Gunther. IMHO, of course.

The question now is, what happens next after Luann’s debrief?

1) Will Luann confess feelings for both Gunther and Jack?

2) Will Pru encourage Luann to get closer to Gunther? (Fingers Crossed)

3) Will Pru talk Luann into going contacting one of the guy’s on the dating app? (Big Mistake)

4) Will get Mad that her “friend” Les was such a JERK, and finally try to talk some sense into him?

5) Will “Bets” one day wind up on the doorsteps to the Galug where Les, upon opening the front door, laugh himself silly?

Personally I’m hoping for #2 and #4. Of course it STILL could be no more than just a close friendship between Luann and Gunther. The two can be a great help to each other, as pals especially when it comes time for Gunny to shop for new clothes.

BUT. Here’s what I’m wondering. If Lu and Gunny remain friends and Gunny patches things up and starts dating Tiffany, would Luann “warn” Gunther about Tiffany the way Gunther tried to “warn” Tiffany about Les? Remember, Lu and Tiff have had a long and unpleasant “history” down through the years. And since Luann cares for Gunther, would she sit back and watch him fall into Tiffany clutches without so much as a peep of protest? And what if it the other around? What would Tiffany’s reaction to Gunny dating Luann or any other gal be? (I honestly think that Tiffany cares for Gunther despite what happened last Fall. And she’s not going to go quietly)

Things Maybe getting real interesting here this week, and the rest of the year. I’m brewing a Big Pot of fresh COFFEE. ;)

I don’t think Luann’s disapointed in the last panel, like some here have said. I think it’s more like “Details? What details? I just told you everything.”

And now the sad ending comes out that Gunther is still Gunther and if she considers that fun and romance just wasn’t in the mix then he’ll need that bolt of lighting to wake up one day.

“We were in his room when Les came home so I ran to the window and jumped out.” See, Luann, it doesn’t make any more sense when you say it, either. Nor will it, when Gunther tries to explain to Les why Luann’s car is no longer parked on the street. Nor will it when Mr. Gray asks about all that damage to the window frame that made all the “BAM”, “THUD”, “BUMP”, and “SCRAPE” noises.

Is Luann disappointed that’s all that happened?

That girl’s as sharp as a bowling ball.

Wait a minute – can it be that we may have a pathway to (dare I say it) resolution of something? Naaaaaaaaaah…

I have a feeling Pru is going to go all “big sister” on Luann. “Luann! Listen to what you just said.”

Stepping back one episode: I can’t see Luann doing the “We’re caught! I’ve got to jump out the window” bit before she got involved with Jack and Tara. She certainly wouldn’t have done this while Bernice was her one and only BFF. As luann1212 likes to remind us these are times to explore new behaviors. Is Luann developing her wild(er) side?

Now sit down and we will talk about your feelings…

“You had to jump out the window because Les came home? Why? Wow, Luann, I really don’t know Gunther at all, but he sounds like a complete idiot!”

Sorry, Pru…that’s pretty much it.

Turned out that this episode was another new behavior for Luann. Much as the Monster Truck/wild party was. Jumping out a window is new, no matter the reason.

I am not so enthralled with the idea of continuing this arc, but it is indeed our destiny, at least for the next six days. So, with that idea in mind, what potentially can be gleaned from the efforts today in regards to the last few weeks?

1. This whole arc started when Pru encouraged Luann to get off her damn phone and go live life.

2. It is now (to me anyway) humorously ironic that Luann’s big adventure out was to go play on her phone with Gunther as he played on his phone. :)

3. How will Pru respond to the relatively modest amount of action/activity between Luann and Gunther?

4. Will Pru focus on Luann’s statement about Gunther saying Luann is beautiful, or why she felt it was necessary to jump out the window or why they felt bothered by Les or some mix or none of the three?

One thing I am not sure about…. how much does Pru know about Gunther? I cannot recall from the past how much if any interaction the two of them have had together. Is Pru’s knowledge mostly second-hand or is it from direct interaction with Gunther? That may be an important factor in how this week proceeds.

Where does Luann live? At home? At the Fuze? In a dorm? With Pru?

No… That’s not it. Since you didn’t even change clothes, you probably haven’t been back home yet. So….

Why is everyone assuming that it was Luann’s idea to jump out the window? IMHO, it is more likely that Gunther heard Les returning and wanted to avoid exactly the kind of smarmy scene that would result if Les saw Luann in Gunther’s bedroom. Since Gunther probably has no room in his small closet to hide anyone (and millions of dust bunnies under his bed), he pushed the screen out of the window and helped Luann jump out, whispering to her to wait a few minutes and he’d give her the purse, phone and jacket that he’d stuffed into the closet…

Notice the blouse crinkle at Pru’s small of the back from her sitting on the edge of her seat.

Great detail!

Luann / Jack. Gunther / Tiffany. Which one will really hook up. If I remember right Tiffany has been naked in front of Gunther, so I would add a point there.

Les and Pru work together. Luann better tell Pru not to mention any of this to Les, otherwise he will know they were lying. Pru will wonder why they had to lie about any of it. I wonder why they had to lie about any of this.

The whole Luann is totally blind to compliments and the notion of flirting and sexual attraction is getting old and silly. Just sayin’

On another hand, I am wondering why Prudence didn’t say anything about the fact that she sent Luann to Gunther’s to get Luann off her phone, and instead, Luann and Gunther just ended up doing more with their phones. That would have been the logical next step here…

Pru. Demand that Greg gives you a respectable life and significant role in this strip, or start breaking his drawing pencils every night under the cover of darkness.

Luann you have to let breath for a few seconds.

Why would Prudence think something which took many hours to do would need more than ten seconds to fully describe?

Pru is close friends with Les. After hearing this story in greater detail, perhaps she will convince Les to live his own life more and stop harassing Gunther about his.

Luann1212 this is the second time in recent days that my comment notifier (the little red number that appears by my avatar) has listed you as having left a comment for me… but when I click on that link….. there is no comment by you.

So, when it first happened, I presumed you may have made a comment and then erased it…. but now it has happened again, so I thought I had better check…. did you send me a comment and then erase it, or is there something going on where I cannot see or locate it correctly? I did not want you to think I was ignoring your comment if you had wanted me to see it.

Poor Luann. She seem to not be able to see the great things in her life. But now “Elder sis” Pru will do it for her!

Gunther really makes you laugh, Luann. That is a real good start!

Pru is basically going to direct Luann into realizing her feels towards Gunther. My theory is perhaps she’ll encourage Luann to ask Gunther on a date through his profile, but I also believe Jack’s probably going to end up popping up soon and then next thing you know we have are self’s a love triangle

Surely (and hopefully), this relationship is going nowhere. Gunther and Tiffany went nowhere. Gunther and Bernice went nowhere. Gunther and Luann will go nowhere. Tiffany and Les went nowhere. Bernice and Piro went nowhere. Luann and Jack sadly is going nowhere. If Gunther and Luann hook up, they"ll have to get married; otherwise, what happens when they break up? Gunther will have to leave the strip. when Jack told Luann that they had chemistry together, she was intrigued. What has changed about Gunther that she would suddenly find him attractive?

C’mon, Luann! You must be a better storyteller than that, working with the kids and all. Pru is right to want some of the details!

I’m thinking Pru and Tara. Pru needs to get out more.

If Pru wants details, Pru should give details…..of her own love life.

We haven’t seen much of Pru having a life. The brief attention from Les was about it.
