How about Opal makes a survey about how pleasant or annoying surveys are?

A while ago I decided not to fill out surveys unless I’m raging mad, ecstatically happy, or paid for it. It’s been a long time since.

When I do fill out a survey or write a review,it’s usually when I’m pleased with something. Mom always said that if you can’t say something nice, don’t say anything at all. I take reviews with a grain of salt. Seems there are always extremes with the reviews. People search for fault like it’s buried treasure.

Does a person or computer look at the completed surveys ? Do they pay attention to what they are told ?

You want me to fill out a survey? 10 bucks please. My time is valuable. “A chance to win an entry” is not sufficient compensation.

After a hospital visit I got one survey on line and another in the mail, then a phone call…..it’s either they’re insecure about their service or they want to make it better…..which I’m sure is the latter…..PITA

I take surveys on several sites, which donate to various animal projects. Then there’s the nameless site where you can answer 30 questions, only to be disqualified!

Toyota dealer calls after I get oil change. How did we do? You just changed the oil, I think. You didn’t replace an engine.

I don’t mind filling out the surveys. It’s not like I have something pressing to do.

I do object and say so on the ones from Amazon that arrive before the product. “It might be great but since I only ordered it yesterday…”

Just about everyone online seems to want me to rate their service. Two other pet peeves are sites I just use to look something up asking me to sign up for notifications or newsletters, and sites I go to to read one article someone recommends telling me I have only one more visit to their site before I have to pay. These sites are becoming immune to the “open link in private window” option.

Since when did the Post Office care about what others think of their service? That is almost as ludicrous as the DMV handing out surveys!

She needs to use the word “questionnaire” for what she fills out to take the “survey.” Surveys use questionnaires to gather their data.

The only reviews that I write are the ones I get paid for. I never fill out surveys or questionnaires

Internet surveys do more than seeking your opinion. They data mine and your information is then sold. " But I didn’t put my name on the questionnaire, " you say. But you have an IP address that is easily tracked and informs the data miners.

If I have a gripe with a product, restaurant or hotel or conversely, am very pleased with it, I let the company or individual know personally. It is a lot more effective than taking a survey or filling out a questionnaire.

I bought two cars and had a new front door installed. In all three cases the rep said I had to rate them a “10” or they wouldn’t get a raise. Hmmm.

An unnamed Japanese car company phoned to ask how my purchase of my new Honda Fit had gone, and would I rate them ten-out-of ten on the experience? I explained that there had been a problem, and I hadn’t received the car yet. She asked if she called back after I had received the car, would I rate them ten-out-of ten then? I said “no, the problem would preclude me giving them ten-out-of-ten.” She never called back.
