so sweet! a special guest appearance by Pengo! (is that right?) love The Toddler’s socks and pjs. they really go together well and Georgia’s shortened signature, very cute!
Happy Friday!!! It has been such an amazing week, I’m so happy that so many of you finally have a copy of ‘Lupin Leaps In’ in your hands! If you find yourselves with a spare moment today, may I ask a favor? Good reviews on Amazon and Goodreads can help a new book tremendously. Word of mouth is still the best kind of advertising, and in the world we live in online reviews have become part of that. If you have a minute to give ‘Lupin Leaps In’ five stars and a few kind words letting readers know why they would enjoy it, I’d be so grateful! …I want to say something catchy and call-to-actiony like “If we get 100 five star reviews I’ll make popcorn hot tub happen in the comic!!!” —But let’s all be real, popcorn hot tub just needs to happen in the comic, right? Look how happy and cozy the Robber Mice Gang looks I would be so thankful for great reviews though, and maybe if we get 100 five star reviews popcorn hot tub will become a tee shirt or a mug or a longer storyline than a one-off gag?
Beatrix is so smart and observant. She already knows how to spell out the station’s call letters.
The boy looks so comfy in the cat bed. I can’t tell what’s on the breakfast plate, but surely if it were ham or bacon, Puck would be more interested. Meanwhile, poor Pengo doesn’t look very comfy, at all.
Our fuzzy iverlord’s favorite scratching post is a tube thing, and my toddler used to flip it over on its side and use it as a hot tub. She’d bring all her stuffed animals in it for a party.
Yeah, that looks about right! It is a truth universally acknowledged that a cat-inhabited household in possession of a cat bed must be in want of a cat to use it…and then they can go on wanting. Good luck with that. (I shouldn’t quote “Pride and Prejudice” when I haven’t had enough sleep, especially as I don’t like the book in the first place. Go ahead and scold.)
Weird but true: the elementary school where my mom works has gone all “alternative seating” and replaced some of the kid desks/chairs with dog beds. Actual dog beds. In the classroom. We got nothin’ here, folks.
Important literacy work going on with Beatrix, though! It looks like she’s mastered the important letters. You’re good to go, little girl!
Unrelated: I just saw an artist on another site I hang out on describe Siamese cats and oriental shorthairs as “maximum meow, maximum snoot” and they are not wrong! Thought I’d pass the description along; hope it makes someone else smile too.
My wife has, over time, bought a number of different types of cat bed for She-Who-Demands-Salmon-Flavoured-Kibble-For-Dessert, and they are, naturally, unused. Her Gloriousness prefers my son’s bed, the sofa, our knees, the square of carpet under the coffee table, and (it should go without saying) the part of the floor where we are most likely to fall over Her.
Though we do have some teddy bears sitting on one of the cat beds. This might seem odd, since we do not have small children in the house, and I would explain it if I could.
My two like to hang out on their Cat lounger scratchpad. Since they used to scrabble over it, I bought a second one. Well, anyone who knows cats knows the ending to this story: they ignore the second one and still fight over the first one. The loser lies down next to it and mopes, even though the second one is only a foot away. Go figure.
Oh my cat, breakfast in bed, thats all my pair need to see on the BCN ! on another note I call my boy ,Finlay, the bed thief, Snowy finds the comfy spots, next time I look Fins there. His greatist theft was when he took over the dog’s crate, she didn’t know what to do!
I just realized that Beatrix makes me want to sing,‘Little Twelve Toes’, from, Schoolhouse Rock…if you remember Schoolhouse Rock, then I know how old you are!
I foolishly bought a cat bed like the one in the comic and of course, the cats ignored it. I started using it as a foot warmer while doing crafts in the kitty room. It wasn’t long before one of the cats decided that it was her bed and my feet had to go!
Yesterday was feeding time for Pandora and for the second week in a row, she started crawling toward me as soon as I opened the top of her box. When I went to put her in her feeding bin she constricted around my arm and did not want to let go. I had to unwind her to get her into the bin. Last feeding she missed her strike, partially, and instead of getting her stunned mouse by the head, she got it by the rump. It took a bit longer but she eventually got it down backwards, tail first. I held yesterday’s mouse a bit higher and she got it by the head like she is supposed to and did a perfect coil to constrict it.
Also, her eyesight seems to have improved, for some unknown reason, as she has started to track movement which she didn’t use to do. If the whether remains nice then I might be able to take her outside for a bit later on this week.
Okay, I’ve read my new book ‘Lupin Leaps in" and went over to Amazon and left my all-star review. We’ll see if they accept it, I got a little sickening sweet with it. Also I told everyone to access her strip on gocomics.com. We’ll see if that passes muster.
Yay! My copy of Lupin Leaps In finally downloaded, just as I was about to take my Nook to Barnes & Noble to find out what was wrong! (After five days of trying.) Now I just have to feed my menagerie so I can have time to actually read it.
Cats never want what we humans expect. Once I placed a Maine coon with a lady who had two German shepherds. All good. So she came back to me for a second Maine coon so she would have “two sets of best friends.” I sent her a wonderful second cat. The lady told me two weeks later that she indeed had her two sets of bonded animals: one cat and one dog, with another cat and its dog. Go figure.
Would the little white area and the “lump/bump” under the afghan by Pengo be Lupin? No one noticed this but Georgia often puts little details in the strip.

Well, that figures. Cats prefer People beds, and Toddlers prefer cat beds. Certainly explains a lot, doesn’t it?
Love Beatrix with the building blocks!

off topic, but, Georgia, do you plan on doing any ComicCons this year, specifically on the East Coast???

Come Caturday morning,
I’m having my breakfast in bed.
I’ll stay in the bed that the cats never use,
Just I and my bowl
We’ll watch and enjoy Beatrix stacking the blocks.
And then we’ll move on,
But we will remember
Long after breakfast is done.
