Well, at least these three are having fun. ✨

Guess we’re going into overtime with this arc.

What we don’t know is whether it continues Monday.

Or maybe Doug just went to the Men’s Room as Old Smiley crudely suggests. And if Luann’s not happy, NOW is her chance to escape.

Truth be known, NOW would also be a good time for EVERYONE to get nosy and to go over to Lu’s table, and REMAIN there until Doug returns. It’ll be “fun” seeing Lu Trying to explain this crowd to Doug. And give her. Taste of what she put Gunny thru last month.

We never did get to see Doug just like the dog in Red Morgan!

Jack didn’t get a cheeseburger and Luann doesn’t get a second date and possibly these characters will realize that the Fuse is a terrible place to go on a date.

Well Doug DID drop a napkin. Probably someone came to his rescue and he left with his rescuer.

Most likely Ox came to her rescue, after all she did drop her napkin, even if that fact flew over everyone’s head.

Jack is a real whack! He’s being a bit of a drama queen.

Just give up and hold speed-dating nights at The Fuse!

Maybe Ox got rid of Doug for Luann…

A Taco surprise huh? Apparently Jack, Tiffany, and TJ were having so much fun about the date voyuerism that they did not notice what happened between the time Ox went over, apparently, to get Luann another napkin, and Doug’s apparent departure. I can’t imagine much more happening, but as I always say…

Then we might not find out for four months.

Maybe “Doug” went to get the rest of his body since all that’s been shown of his physical presence is his left hand …..Or, maybe he’s really Thing from the Addams Family …..

I was expecting them to have popcorn today.

Silly Doug – The poor guy apparently did not know that you are supposed to wait until the fire goes out before you eat a Chili Taco Flambé…

What a surprise. I never even saw it coming!

What’s happened? I’m so worried for Luann!

Maybe he dashed out to buy Luann a ring?

I was watching Parks and Rec show and Leslie Knope managed to turn a first date into a bigger hoopla than Luann did, but just barely.

You had one job, Jack!

Doug saw Luann’s “friends” and thought better of dating Luann.

Or maybe he stiffed her on the bill!

Lu had an emergency they all ignored, except Ox, who didn’t know it was an emergency and went over. Seeing Ox, Doug probably left, or maybe Ox asked him to go if Lu was upset.

Maybe he went to find someone who works there who actually works.

It looks like Luann lost the loser all on her lonesome.

Okay. This is a variation on “How many goofballs does it take to change a light bulb?” Let’s all move to Luann’s table and find out.

Doug: an artist’s holiday. Think of a name, draw a nice hand, lock him in the men’s room, move on.

I’m waiting to see what Luanne is going to say to her “good friends” who let her down.

Doug saw a big giant come and took off.

Or maybe Doug’s wingman was paying attention! You blew it Jack.

So many thoughts…

So the date is fini! Mercifully. Monday will have to be a continuation dealing with the post mortem. Will it be at the Fuse or in class? To switch arcs now would lose any momentum from this week. Folks would hardly remember this series of unremarkable vignettes two weeks from now. (Except for possibly the “Flamin’ Chili Taco” visual.)

The Gunther-Bets date at the K2 seemed much more humorous. Was that deliberate on Greg’s part? Or could he not play such mean tricks of his signature character?

We can only surmise the date was bland… or worse. So the dramatic effect must be in the aftermath. Surely the signature character’s first e-date episode would outshine all others!?!? Greg surely wouldn’t cause this “date” to throw Luann into another episode of self-doubt and depression. Or would he?

TJ joining the table means Tiffany’s behavior will be overlooked. Possibly to the chagrin of those un-enamored of our favorite Hunk of Hubba. :o)

Luann’s going to be mad, but this is actually good for her character arc (presuming the date went badly). She needs to know she doesn’t always need someone to bail her out of tough situation.

Sounds like Luann took care of business all on her own.

Ummm… Who took Doug’s order?

Job well done, guys! NOT!!!

Maybe Luann said, “Bug off.”

OK, let’s all move along. Nothing further to see here.

Today’s arc should have shown the back of Tom Farrell’s head and he is saying, “Hi Doug. Is your Uncle George back from New York yet?” (and we don’t see Doug).

Just think ..for all that time, no tables were being waited on, and no dishes were being washed.

So Sunday it would be nice to have something a little different than the usual thing with Puddles. Maybe Tara telling Luann it’s time to move out of the house – suggesting they get a place together as roommates. Luann’s reply would show if she’s afraid to leave the nest.

This is the stupidest story line ever. Any young woman who’s not having fun on a date in a public place can just stand up and say, “Well, I think it’s time for me to go home. Best of luck to you.” She doesn’t need a man to stand guard. Such nonsense.

Maybe Doug’s had enough of Luann??!!

Th’ ‘Flamin’ Chili Taco’ maneuver … Works – every – time!! …

The ‘Flaming Chili Taco’ might be possible except it would raise the question as to which Fuse employee took their order and served the food, since it is clearly not Ox, Tiffany or TJ doing it.

Perhaps Doug had his own escape plan if Luann was a bad date. Like getting up and leaving.

I still think he went to the bathroom. The three musketeers act like something extraordinary has happened. People do it every day…even at restaurants.

Maybe Doug got weirded out by all the people staring at him and talking about him from a mere 15 feet away. Especially since most them are the staff of the place and presumably had actual work they should have been doing… like taking orders and bringing food.

I got it. Doug got up to ask for a manager to see why they weren’t getting waited on!

Meanwhile in the real world, shouldn’t a woman know how to extract herself from an unpleasant date?

Doug has come and gone without our ever seeing him. I guess we can take this as a sign that he was never really a viable candidate to become The One for Luann….
