Coming Soon đ At the beginning of April, youâll be
introduced to a brand-new GoComics! See more information here. Subscribers, check your
email for more details.
It would be nice to find a shopping center or supermarket which doesnât continually torment us with the sound of a girl having a pineapple stuffed up her nose. One of our local places even has it in the parking lot!
When visiting our far flung family we liked the Books on Tape, which became CDs, and now are multiple web sites, although we donât do the latter. I have downloaded several hundred of my favorite tracks, mostly from 40 and 50 years ago, but only about half meet the approval of she who must be obeyed.
Iâm to old fashion. To many choices, just let me bang on the wheel to a beat in my head as I drive home. Great entertainmentâ- for those watching me.
We listen to the local college stations. Bless them, they play classical music most of the time. And I do agree with Happy Dog â the music sometimes seems designed to drive people away.
Our local YMCA, despite many protests, plays âwhining Iâm such a loserâ, also called adult contemporary, music in the locker room and cardio area. Hardly motivating
Thatâs why I love my old iPod Classic. Every song I own â over 13,000 tracks â in one small package. Plug it into the car and shuffle-play the whole shebang.
You wonât ever find a radio station like that :-)
Iâve been transferring all my music to flash drives so I can listen to the music I like. None of the local radio stations play âmyâ music so Iâve had to do this. But what I donât understand is the mindset of a lot of people who think that after a certain age they canât like the things they liked when they were younger. At 52, Iâm partial to the music I grew up with. Most of my friends think Iâm weird to play loud 70s and 80s metal, but my grandkids love it.
My new car came with serious xm. They want me to renew. I donât listen to the radio in the car. I let the almost daily mailer keep coming so the post man still gets a paycheck and the school gets the money for recycled paper.
It kills me that cars arenât being made with CD players anymore. I know the technology is 35 years old but I do not look forward to having to transfer my 30 year collection so I can listen in the car.

We donât have much of a choice in my small town. Itâs ridiculous that itâs mostly talk radio too!

Music? One of the few advantages to being hearing impaired. If I canât decide on the CD to play I know I wonât find it on the radio.

So they want some music for the road. How about some music from the road.

Sirius/XM. Grateful Dead Channel (yes, there is such a thing). No better driving music in the world.

If I recall correctly, âback in the dayâ, Arloâs driving music of choice was Jimmy Buffett, while Janis was a big Emmy Lou Harris fan.

Silence is too often maligned! Quiet is soothing at times.

â70s R&Bâ on Amazon Music is my default. When in doubt, thatâs what goes on.
