Nushi update: I posted the update for her vet visit yesterday. Bottom line is she couldn’t see anything wrong with her ears so likely this is just part of the healing process. Sure enough the day I made the appt (Wed) was the worst of it, it was better yesterday and continues to be better today. I haven’t seen any major spasms, and only a little head scratching. Still glad I checked.
For today, she continues to have a great appetite, especially in the morning. This morning she was holding her right eye closed, which is the eye that had the cloud in it when I first got her. I put an anti-biotic drop in it around noon, and she opened it up a little after that. Open a bit more this evening. Her voice is also a bit scratchy today, but that could be because she meowed the entire way to the vet the day before. Quiet on the way home though. That’s a pattern I’m sure many of you have seen with your own fur babies!
Nushi played with 2 different toys today and even ran after her spring and swatted it around!!! The improvement in her movement is most obvious when she tries something like going up stairs. I think it was Tuesday that she wanted to check out the front yard and then went up the stairs to go back in. It was a one stair at a time, wobble, reset, go. Today it was a smoot motion! Was able to use food for the shot again today. I added a 5 minute warm-up of talking about food and how I know she doesn’t like the shot but that it was what was making her feel better. Let her smell the food during the last part of the talk and then my helper of the day talks to her while I put the food down, and keeps talking to her while she eats and I give her the shot. Fingers crossed it keeps working.
That’s all for now. Go Team Nushi and Go Mega-Orb!!!! Shirin
We lost two panels, but we also gained a few. I think it’s safe to assume Trevor is going to not only approve of having Beatrix join the book store staff, he’s going to be so happy!
Orbsters (yes, autocorrect, it’s a word) … off to Baltimore this morning. Sox game tomorrow, orthopedist Monday, neurologist (because of the spine being involved) Tuesday. Will keep you posted. And if you watch the game tomorrow on TV, look for us in the back (ADA seats) of the section behind the third base dugout.
Opsie, a colony cat that I am working with in the hopes that one day he’ll come home with me, let’s me do things that most cats do not like. He’s very much like my Vlad in this regard. Both let me touch their paws without pulling away.
And they get so excited and full of joy when they return. Our girls went to university two years ago and every Christmas holiday have come back and the whole menagerie just gets so happy to see them. But we here all know that with our own fur babies. Looking forward to Monday’s continuation.

Beatrix is being adopted. Trevor and the boys are sad to see her go. Those of us who didn’t know before, now know that Trevor is the big dog.

Ooh, just wait and see
You will find our friendship was meant to be,
Trevor, you and me
Ooh, I live right in the bookstore,
Ooh, just wait and see!
…….
Oh, you’re the best friend I ever had,
Together with Puck, Elvis and Lupin!
You’re my canine, and I want you to know,
My feelings are true, I really love you,
Ooh, you’re my best friend!
…….
Ooh, you make me live!
…….
Ooh, I was wandering ’round,
Never thought I’d be found,
But in rain or snow
You’ve stood by me, friend
The orb makes me happy,
You’re all my best friend!
…….
Ooh, you make me live
Sometimes this world is cruel as can be
But the orb has love to give,
Ooh, you make me live, dear Trevor,
Ooh, you make me live!
…….
I have Trevor
When things turn out bad
I know I’ll never be lonely,
And my Orb Friends,
And I love the things,
I love the things that all of you do,
You’re all my best friends!
…….
Ooh, you make me live,
…….
I’m happy at home
At the bookstore,
Ooh, you make me live,
You’re my best friends!
…….

Tommy’s hand on Trevor’s shoulder (panel 3) is so kind and caring. They are both so sweet in their own way.

Trevor has a doggie accent that he tries to suppress. The occasional Woof or Ruff comes through.
