From a woof to a whimper. Looks like Bea is taking care of things. Now, if the man can get the power on and the strange large cat is revealed, then things will be OK.
Aw, Trevor. We understand. I’m so glad you have a good brave friend in adorable ducky rain gear there with you to hold your paw, and to tell you that the world isn’t ending and it’s going to be OK! …or at least to bounce puns off you. Whatever works.
I was wondering if Trevor lived at the bookstore, but for now I’m going to assume that the Bookstore Woman has a flat above her shop and that’s where Beatrix and Trevor are, especially because she has greenhouses presumably nearby. The alternative is that she’s left her thunder-fearing dog alone at the shop with a thunderstorm presumably forecast, and I think better of the Bookstore Woman than that! (I know, two uses of “presumably” in a single hypothesis, bad me.)
Y’know, it’s dangerous to handle electrical equipment like microphones and fiddle around the mains during a thunderstorm, ya know. You should wait until the thunders fade away for good.
Yesterday 8 people were injured on Clearwater Beach (Florida) by a lightning strike from storm clouds several miles away. People need to be aware that lightning can strike up to 7 miles away from the clouds!
The good news: M came home from the hospital on Wednesday, which is absolutely amazing when you consider that she nearly died of sepsis 3 weeks ago. She’s still weak but it looks like she’s on her way to a full recovery. She has visiting nurses & PT for a few weeks.
The not-so-good news: She’s being a total spoiled brat baby, expecting everyone (especially her roommate J) to wait on her hand & foot. If anyone doesn’t jump at her beck & call, she tends to flip out on them. She’s driving J (who has her own health issues, including constant pain due to a bad back – & even if she didn’t, she didn’t sign up to be M’s mom, nurse, or servant!) so crazy that J has been hiding out at my place or going over to another friend’s place for 2-3 days at a time just to get some peace & take care of her own business.
It’s an unpleasant situation for all concerned, to say the least. I’m trying not to get involved in any confrontations & would much appreciate continued prayers, good vibes, (((((HUGGZ))))), purrrrrrrrrrz, headbonks, mews, yips, chirps, & other good stuffs for M to grow up & stop being Bratzilla & for all of us to get through it without killing each other…
Social media alert – stealing that thunder you’ve got there, Beatrix! Georgia has posted some pictures and narrative of her creative process on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/p/B0OR_KyJASw/
Too accurate! My cat, Cosmo, is totally unfazed by thunder and fireworks. My dog, a giant Akita named Casey, used to run to the basement to hide when a storm was coming and our dachshund, Oscar, hides under the sofa
Thunder doesn’t both our guys much. Waffle is too egotistical and dignified … 8-ball went a-Viking in his youth, was gone for two months, and knows all about it. However, should I sneeze (Drop 40 and fire for effect!) that’s another thing, altogether.
Blanket fort!! Perfect place to escape the scary thunder! I agree with others, I like to imagine the bookstore lady lives upstairs and Bea and Trevor live upstairs when they are not on bookstore duty :) Someone recommended I post my fundraiser later inthe day, so here it is…thank you to all of you for sharing, and sharing and sharing!! https://www.gofundme.com/f/surgery-for-swiftypaws
Ok. All together now. GGRRRROOOOOOOAAAAAAAANNNNNNNNN! for all of the puns today. It makes it really hard to stop snickering when I read something like that.On a more serious side, there have been major deposits of good Karma in the Karma Bank for anyone who needs it. Take what you need as it is a renewable resource.
Poor little Beatrix and Trevor – I’m glad they can support one another through the storm. Conan hated storms ever since a round of tornadoes passed through town several years ago; until then, thunder storms didn’t bother him, but after that, he was just a wreck. Thank heavens for Thunder Shirts. I guess Akiro learned from his big brother; whenever the thunder rolls, he turns into a huddled little kitty meatloaf, hiding behind Papa’s feet (or at the base of his chair, if the feet aren’t available).

Are Beatrix and Trevor sheltering in a blanket fortress? or hiding underneath a pile of pillows?

I was just thinking about Beatrix and wondering when she was going to show up again. So glad she has big, strong Trevor to lean on.

Poor Trevor! My kitty Blossom doesn’t like thunder, either. Luckily she has me to protect her, much like Trevor has Beatrix, so it’s all good~

Had a thunderstorm move through here about 3 hours ago. The lights flickered a couple of times but didn’t go out.

In our house, the cats don’t like thunderstorms but the dog, Iko, is terrified of them. He crawls under my daughter’s bed and won’t come out.

Meanwhile, what is the storm doing with Jules? Where’s the mystery cat? Will the Man get the power back on in the BPH? Inquiring minds want to know.

My cats don’t really get terrified by thunderstorms the way dogs do. As long as they can stay dry, the cats are fine with thunder.

While the rain cascades The Cascades sing of the Rhythm of the Rain
Listen to the rhythm of the falling rain
Bringing lightning and thunder, too
I wish the storm would end, I sure would not complain,
There’s so many things I want to do
…….
A new cat we care about is hiding away,
Looking for a place out of the storm,
But little does she know the Woman and the Man
Would keep her all safe and warm.
…….
Rain, admit it now, does that seem fair?
For her to be so frightened when we all care?
The Orb is all on her side, she has somewhere
To call home.
…….
Listen to the rhythm of the falling rain
Bringing lightning and thunder, too
I wish the storm would end, I sure would not complain,
There’s so many things I want to do.
