Luann has turned into “Bernice!”

Oh, and for all the posters who insist that this is just about Luann and Jack getting together, how come Jack still isn’t here?

I know some will think Luann is being a wet blanket, but keep in mind TARA and Nil are taking advantage of her position, such as it is, and whatever else you might have about Luann she has scruples, and she does not want to be taken advantage of. Of course now that Prof. Zebo is there will he back her up, put her down, or will there be a misdirection play? She is not being a wet blanket, or a Bernice. They are wanting her to allow them to cheat basically.

The comments on Luann are always weird.

Both Nil and Tara have been in this class. Zebo knows this, and he happens to be looking when they flake out and Luann puts her foot down.

I’m betting that he put them both up to it to see how Luann would react.

Now Zebo knows he chose wisely.

How many of us believe Nil actually has something better to do?

Dang! Luann suddenly grew a pair. You go, um…, girl!

Zebo looks like he’s ready to shoot some arrows!

Perhaps she has grown a backbone.

I am trying to understand the purpose of cutting a class you have already taken.

I had a college history class that I went to about 6 times, the first two classes and the tests. I got a B+. Wish they had all been like that.

Is Luann the TA about to lay a little Bernice the RA on ’em!?!? Imagine that!

What LuAnn is learning is something that all successful beginning teachers must learn, “I’m not your friend inside the classroom”. It’s a tough lesson to learn. Not saying you can’t be compassionate and flexible. “I can give you an extension on assignment x.I can also help you with finding transportation to my 8 am class” But that is very different from “sure, I’ll let you goof off”.

Luann had to learn to put her foot down, sooner, or, later, to keep from having her “friends” walk all over her. I’m surprised it was so soon.

Finally Luann seems determined to raises her voice. Tara and Nil will not be able to use their friendship with her in order not to study. Art is a serious thing and dont admit time wasters. It seems that Luann is about to understand it. Zebo will be so proud of her and of having chosen her from who knows how many students.

and here we go. She is either going to win the admiration of the teacher. Or he will tell her she is being overbearing.

When your friends are your students, being a teacher ain’t easy.

Good timing.

Luann may lose some so called “friends”over this but you can’t let people take advantage of you. Not when they are not only breaking the rules but asking YOU to do so as well.

Interesting how many people are jumping on Luann. Of equal interest is Luann’s response, who’s she say “STOP” to? Tara or Nil? You’re the TA at a junior/community college, not at junior high. If Tara and Nil don’t want to be in the class and burn through money, let them. As for “Z”, pompus as always. You’re an art teacher at a junior/community college. You may have some local notice, then again maybe not.

Go get ’em, Luann! :-)

What is Tara doing wrong? It looks like she spotted another student and is going to talk to him. There is no indication she is leaving the classroom or skipping class.

Zebo is creepy. It had to be said.

Luann is in the classroom and Nil is leaving. Tara is walking the opposite way of Nil so she is not leaving the classroom.

LUANN’S STEPPING UP TO THE PLATE!!!

Years from now when Luann is a school principal, she will trace it all to today. Nice work Luann.

Now some would say that Luann is making a startling metamorphosis into another Bernice. Believe it or not, that’s not a bad thing.

Bernice became the RA because she was considered responsible enough for the job. And while she did falter when it came to Piro, she has been doing the job she’s supposed to do. Yes, shutting down Tiffany’s nail business made everyone hate her, but if the administration had found out, Tiffany could have been in serious trouble. Tiffany could not afford that, especially when she also had to deal with Ann Awful controlling her spending at the time. And Bernice did teach Tiffany how to use her new card (after Tiffany had maxed it out on a power suit).

Now, it’s Luann’s turn to do the TA job she’s accepted. School is not about cutting classes. It’s about learning skills needed to become independent adults. Let’s see if Luann can teach her friends to appreciate what Zebo is trying to teach them.

Now this is real leadership! :-)

Take control Luann!!!

I fear this will be portrayed as a one-time thing, with Luann asserting herself and her friends never attempting to take advantage again. When really, being a good leader is a constant struggle against temptation, with bad influences (her friends in this case) attempting to wear her down until she gives in and takes the easy way out.But alas, I anticipate a Full House ending here, where after a minor struggle everything gets neatly wrapped up with some inspirational words and everyone is happy.Even worse is if Zebo treats this like a test that Luann passed, and because of it she gets some kind of reward (like no more tedious work assignments or something). It’d be better if she instead had to simply carry on as normal, with “doing the right thing” being the expectation rather than something worthy of praise.

Oh goody! Luann is going to use the discipline she uses on children to get these people to do what she wants.

Spota Hottie? Is that the new Beer place down in the Student Center basement?

A test for Luann? Perhaps if Luann knows how to loudly order “Stop”, Zebo might have her monitor the nude, drawing class models. “Okay, Molly, not so close to George. George, find somewhere else to hang your shorts. Tara, turn the lights back on.”

I’m guessing Nil did not pass the 1st time; perhaps handing in blank sheets of black paper for self portraits and arriving nude (practically) for the exercise in wearable art did not serve him well; so how then did he advance to the figure drawing class? I’m glad to see Luann not allowing herself to be used (as an enabler of dishonesty). It is is one thing to be a caring friend, but quite another to allow your friends to make you into a human doormat. I look forward to more of this arc and Luann becoming an art major.

Well, that’s something (I’m not quite sure what, though). Luann is being assertive, and Zebo has overheard it….

Luann is like 19 or 20 now? What 19 or 20 year olds have the authority to tell other students to “STOP!” in a college classroom?
