Poor Elvis. Sitting so patiently by and being totally ignored! I suppose he thinks the “please dance” is undignified.Jasper’s “whipped cream please dance” was to levitate up on his hind legs like a meerkat!
Sunday Funday!!!! Ok, the Mega-Orb gives so much, I’d like to give back to the Orb, but of course, I can’t do it alone. Since soon we will no longer need a spoiler zone, I think if we had a designated spot each week for folks to share something fun, great news, a funny story, a joke, anything. This is not to prescribe that this is the only place or time to do it, if you have great news or something to share at anytime, by all means DO so!
Just like the spoiler zone, whoever thinks of it first on a Sunday should start it, even if you don’t have something to share!!!
The canned stuff has a funny, off flavor for me. I wish I liked it. The real thing or Cool Whip Extra Creamy for me.
I was lucky to have two cats that were not lactose intolerant. It was a joy to share my whipped cream, or even just heavy/whipping cream with them. Boy! did they just love it. There reactions were quite similar! :)
Hey, Orbsters, the jokes were supposed to go in the Sunday Funday post, but it looks like I screwed up. (I did catch it jumping to a different spot as I posted one of them but I didn’t follow it). Sorry, but I need to hit the hay and don’t have time to repost and delete the old ones. Thanks!
When I was young and didn’t know how to cook my special Sunday breakfast was to bake one of those yellow one dollar Jiffy cakes and while it was still warm serve it with fresh fruit and whipped cream with a little brandy in it. The cats always got a tiny bite with the whipped cream. No fruit though, they tended to roll it around the apartment.
Oh, my, Pucky’s starry-eyed love look and his dance – how could anybody say no to those. Elvis, a little purring ankle reinforcement wouldn’t hurt your chances. Lupin, hustle your little razzbuttniks over and get into the act before you miss out!
My heart is happy today! I haven’t seen my grandson for almost 3 years and he has dropped in to visit! He is meeting with his mother and his daughter later for a visit. I hope it goes well. I want to take a picture of the 4 generations together and try to print it off so I can frame it.
Hmm… I posted a comment about being happy that another older strip was being done anew, and it has disappeared. Anyway, hopefully we will see all of those that were skipped for one reason or another. Elvis may end up in the butter yet…
Today was Super (Food) Bowl Sunday here at Cat Paradise. I opened a new bag of dry cat food, and the gang got to watch me bring in the bag, cut it open, and slowly pour it into the food storage bucket. Oh joy!
I must say your spins are perfect and I like how your tail sways while you dance…and purring, while you spin, is a stroke of GENIUS! You sir, are going on to the next round of, ‘Dancing for Whipped Cream!’
I remember learning, a looooong time ago, that some naturalists and animal handlers used canned whipped cream to pacify cougars and tigers. The commercial cans don’t have enough range, so they used seltzer bottles filled with it. They’d squirt it right at the cat’s snarling mouth. Cat went from dangerously irritated and aggravated to “Hunh? What? Yummy! Why was I upset? Nevermind. More?”
By the way, off topic, watching the Howdy Modi programme live from halfway across the world. A howdy to you BCN friends from the US of A. (Waving my bear hand at cha).
Puck’s so cute with those big “I’m in love” eyes and that dance. Elvis is adorable with his disgust at being ignored for Puck’s “hop, spin, hop and purr” dance.
The call to action for my cats is the sound of the can opener, they are banking on the possibility it’s canned tuna. Ricky like canned peas too. They don’t like canned beans.

Best Elvis photo ever. Jeepers, creepers, where’d he get those peepers! I think it must have been taken from Camera One!

Joke Time:
I told my niece that I saw a moose on the way to work this morning. She said, “How do you know he was on his way to work?”

Children seldom misquote you. In fact, they usually repeat word for word what you shouldn’t have said.

The sole purpose of a child’s middle name is so he can tell when he’s really in trouble.

And finally…
I don’t care what you think you’re good at, there’s a 7-year-old kid on YouTube doing it better.

Elvis you at least have to do the “figure eight though the Woman’s legs” dance. Purring while doing so wouldn’t hurt, either.

cat19632001 about 5 years ago
Elvis, while Puck is distracting the Woman with his “please dance,” you could be sneaking in from the side and snagging some whipped cream.

What happened to part of Pucky’s hind end in panel four? Is that Lupin going invisible and standing between Puck and the mug?
