    Good morning™, Det. Frisk!

This is the person whose face was slipped in among the dead in the final scene of Our Town. We figured out them that it was Det. Frisk, who worked with the MCU on a few cases before disappearing from the strip with no explanation. It seems that she is now locating birth parents of adoptees.

“It’s hard to have a bad story when there isn’t any story.”

“Help me, Obi-Wan Kenobi. You’re my only hope.”

“Neil has been seduced by the dark side of the force!”

Two weeks of scantily clad ditzy chicks swimming in a ocean of nothingness followed by 2 ladies covered head to toe with the hope of a new season and an exciting story.

    We shall see.

“And now for something completely different.”

With the Minit Mystery over and no sign of Doc’s case resuming, it appears we’ve reached the start of a new story. When I’ve decided a new story’s started, I do a list of every Tracy story on GoComics. Unfortunately, soon after I started doing this GC imposed a stupid, asinine character limit of only 2000 characters which includes every letter, space, punctuation, & html, which means I have to do this over several posts. I’ll do my initial introduction in this post and start the list in the next one, because otherwise, I can’t even get past the second year.

My notes are fairly simple. Just my name for the story (usually the name of the main villain or villains, unless they just aren’t the emphasis) followed by the dates the story began and ended. If someone was the main villain for more than one story, I add a “II” and so on to emphasize this. If more than one villain from a past story are in the same story committing major crimes, I include them altogether. Finally, for the two cases of more than one villain with the same name (Chameleon, Mr. Crime) I add, “The Second” in front of their names.

Minit Mysteries Note: at the request of people who wanted to see these listed here, I’ve decided to make a separate post for them to keep the listing of Mike Curtis stories in as few posts as possible.

At the start of the GoComics archive, the writer was the late Mike Kilian. Personally, I like his work on Tracy and think he’s very underrated. At the very least, he knew how to tell a story in the daily strip format where every day, something happens that moves the story along, a quality his successor sorely lacked. I recommend anyone here who hasn’t read these stories to check them out.

TBC cuz GC decided to suck now

There are reasons birth records were sealed.. Some were to protect the parents, some were to protect the child. This “Find your birth parents” thing has a way of backfiring in a lot of cases.

1-MISS PRIMM: Miss Lola Skya? 2-Here’s the top secret documents you needed for your doctoral thesis. LOLA SKYA: And here is your American dollars. 3-MISS PRIMM: Thanks. Be sure that info doesn’t fall into the wrong hands. It could tip the balance of international power. LOLA: Of course not. I will be using it only to support my contention that USA is greatest superpower on earth. It is, how you say, wonderful. MISS PRIMM: Ya know. You talk funny. LOLA: I am from south. MISS PRIMM: Ahhh. I knew there was something…

Well Glenn Close has done films, Broadway, TV, why not a comic strip?..Stay tuned.. I’m fearful of some kind of crossover.

Hopefully there’s no last minute “Oh s@&$!” realisation of the deadline with this story unlike we’ve just had.

I’m not really familiar with Detective Frisk (apart from reading the comments above), as I wasn’t reading Tracy with any regularity during the Kilian era—mostly just occasionally on Sundays—, though I had enjoyed Kilian’s prior work as a reporter and then a columnist for the Tribune. I thought he was a fine writer.

If she becomes the focus of this arc, however, I fear she will have crossed over to the Dark Side. Something about the cold way she accepts her fee from Ms. Astin and then dismisses her is off-putting. On the other hand, if Ms. Astin’s search for her real parents (John “Gomez” Astin as her dad?) is the focus, the possibilities are open-ended at this early point….
