Life before Arlo. Now we’re getting somewhere. This could prove interesting.

So … I’m guessing Joey was her “first”, or she made a man out if him. Kind of clueless of her to tell Arlo that.

I’m trying to figure out why Arlo has such a big smile in the first frame. He ought to know Janis is opening the creaking front door in a slasher movie.

Whoa, never expected to have Janis admit to that.

Arlo is not surprised Janis dated other men before him; in their ‘origin’ arc, she was dating someone when they met. That someone broke it off with her when he fell in love with his male cousin but I digress….

Anyone who is jealous of the relationships one’s spouse or partner had BEFORE THEY ME is a BORN BLOODY FOOL.

Arlo’s handling it a lot better than I probably would.

This arc is going in the wrong direction. Arlo was obviously not her first, maybe not by a long shot. I am sure most readers do not want to visit her possible affairs again. Obviously Janis was kind of “loose” in college and high school. Who is to say she won’t be again and a possible divorce from Arlo looms precariously.

Woah. Janis…. will you now have to tell Arlo about Joey….. or will you be able to somehow keep that memory still to yourself?

I fear that either way, Arlo will be less than enthused.

Jimmy J has hinted broadly over the years about Janis’ early life. My hunch is broad hints are all we’re going to get! :o)

I don’t think he’s done the same with Arlo, though. Anyone know?

Joey was still Greene when he first met Janis, but not for long!

All our minds went to the gutter! :-) If she’s so comfortable, it’s probably something like he’s the one who let her cheat off his test, or the one who really broke that expensive lamp, or the one who knows she once shoplifted… But, the sexual angle is teased to us! We’re so used to sitcom television!

Jimmy J has hinted broadly that Janis’ has an “adventurous” life prior to hooking up with Arlo (examples below). Twice now via Facebook.

But, in my memory, Arlo’s prior “adventurous” life only centered Janis. Can anyone point to something there?

In 1993 we were introduced to Vince, a coworker and confidant to Janis re problems in her marriage to Arlo. January 20th and March 1st & 2nd, 1993. He came up again in 2016; May 22-28. In this arc, Janis admits to more than a passing fancy for Vince.
