OMC! That look of peace and safety as Goldie is draped over the woman’s shoulder does something to my insides…and apparently has infected my computer screen.
Oh, and I still haven’t read the comments from the last several days but I have to say I’m SO delighted everytime I see Dr. Man, especially since we know how long he’s been part of the story!
May everyone who is not feeling well, fighting pain, loss, loneliness, or feeling lost in this world be blessed with furry companions, and have a woman, a man and a Mr. Man who can help them become their best selves!
A lot of cat books recommend a room with a screen door (yeah, right) for introducing new cats to resident cats but that would definitely not be a good idea in this case. I foresee a lot of under the door scratching and meowing. But, counting days, three weeks would put us right at Christmas Eve for the end of quarantine.
Dang-dratted eyes are out of focus!!! Pur wee, sma’ Goldie is finally Home!!! We call our “huggy” cats Snorglebutts, that’s Toddler-ese: snorgle is snuggle.
Don’t worry Georgia, the Mega Orb will keep Goldie and the boys separate from each other until time. Until then, I guess we’ll give attention to the boys and Goldie.
Here’s another story about the benefits of micro chipping. Just look at the man’s face. https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/its-my-christmas-miracle-months-later-georgia-man-reunited-with-missing-cat-in-new-york/ar-BBXDoWX
O.T. I got a much-needed cortisone shot in my knee yesterday and it’s amazing how much better my overall mood is, not to mention that I can walk more like a “normal” person. Yes, the shots are hurty, but it’s over quickly and the result is well worth it. Little aches and pains can gang up on us so much that relieving even one of them can make a huge difference! So this cold, gray Tuesday is a happy one for me. Many Orbsters suffer from various aches, pains, ills and stresses, and my early Christmas wish for today is that everyone can experience some improvement in at least one problem area. And extra purrs, prayers, and head bumps for Skipper, hope life will soon be back to normal for you and your family.
O.T. – we spent the weekend at a lovely b&b in Chestertown, MD. There was an ‘official’ greeter that came up to me when we were getting our stuff out of the car. A mini panther named Sgt Pepper aka Squeaky. A staff member saw me petting him and came over to tell me his story. He and his sidekick Mr. Poppy (a red tabby) had been ferals on the property, were trapped, neutered & returned to the inn. Mr P was still skiddish (we didn’t even see him until the next day) but Sgt Pepper did an about face and became very friendly & social. As it is a beautiful historical inn, they host a lot of weddings. Sgt Pepper decided he was needed to escort the brides down the aisle. He then sits beside the brides through the entire ceremony. He has done this so many times that the man that officiates the weddings has written him into the ceremony. I would love to see some of those wedding pictures!

Bound to be a bit of a struggle to keep Puck from embracing Goldie and Lupin from extracting revenge upon her! I think Lupin’s basic good nature will win out in the end in the strip as it did in life!
Perhaps this doesn’t belong here, but I know I’m not the only BCN fan who shares a love of Star Trek. I was saddened to read of the passing of D.C. Fontana, writer of many of my favorite Star Trek: TOS.
We recently rescued #20. She (?) was in a lumber yard by a bank near my work place. I’d seen her a few weeks ago, and wanted to trap & at least get her fixed. A week ago last Fri, I was able to set the trap, and had her within about 15 minutes. Got home to find someone had beaten us to the spay surgery. We put her in a cage downstairs in our guest room, and she’s adapting well. I was able to get just a little bit of a scratch in on the side of her neck this morning, and I think I heard the start of a purr tonight.

As if the Boys (or Goldie) will agree to that.

Two or three weeks? That means Goldie will be well enough to join the family for Christmas?

So much emotion from Goldie in the last panel: relief, thankfulness, peace. X

This means that Lupin will have to wait for 2 to 3 weeks for revenge!

I think that ‘sniff’ is totally un-related to the infection. ♥

The woman is nodding while Goldie is nodding off. She looks so sweet sleeping on the woman’s shoulder.

Keeping Goldie in the office and the boys out for three weeks? That plan sounds as though it is doomed already.
catmom1360 about 5 years ago
The boys most definitely will try to breach the office door. Hilarity shall ensue. Can’t wait!

I love the way Goldie is looking at the Woman in panels 1 and 3. Such a bond already. <3

As long as Lupin doesn’t know about Goldie’s stay, we won’t see the ‘scowl’ on his face for the next couple of weeks.

Such lovely trust and peace in Goldie’s face in the last panel as she falls asleep on the Woman’s shoulder!
Off topic, Yum Yum assisted in the hemming of a pair of Paul’s slacks yesterday by a) pulling out the pins and b) going to sleep on top of said pants.

In panel four, given her experience with the Toddler and the Baby, I’ll bet the Woman is now gently swaying and rubbing Goldie on the back.

Quarantine is tough. Having upper respiratory infections in all the kittehs is worse. These next weeks are going to be an “E” ticket ride.
