For the record: Science develops an hypothesis first, and that is tested. If it can’t be disproved, then a theory is formed.

Looks like they’re peering over the pier with their peer. Too bad they’re not eating a… Bartlett.

Getting published in a “peer review” journal just means the editor agrees with you, or, at the very least, thinks you might be right.

We had to do job performance peer reviews at GE. Of course we got in cahoots with our co-workers to give each other positive reviews.

The bit the science community always fails to leave out is that a theory is still not proof of concept, but more of an assumption. To become law (true) a theory has to be seen to perform as theorized without fail.

Let me see if I understand this……a scientist does research and then develops a theory. Then has it reviewed by peers and that establishes the matter as fact or truth? Hmm…but if someone does the very same thing with the Bible, they are a fanatic chasing after myths. Shows how warped human thinking can be.

Very disappointed. I first saw the text “Hey, Scientist Sal.” Then scrolled down a few millimeters to discover Sal isn’t short for Sally, i.e. not a woman scientist.

Rat and Guido often take Pig out for a PEER review of the SHARKS revue at the PIER whenever Pig is late paying his Loan Shark.

Peer review is NOT part of the scientific method. It is simply a publication editorial mechanism. And I know Pastis is simply searching for a pun but there is a lot of misconception on this point.
