Coming Soon 👀 At the beginning of April, you’ll be
introduced to a brand-new GoComics! See more information here. Subscribers, check your
email for more details.
If we needed any proof that someone got the job only because she is one of the owners, look no further than the amateur bartender inventing drinks no one wants to drink.
Fun to see Nancy use Frank as a guinea pig for her experiments. I wonder if the crew of The Fuse will also try her experimental drinks. I love this new situation between Frank and Nancy. It could be a real improvement in their social life.
HE!, and I am using the acronym so that certain people don’t get their skivvies in a knot (lol). I want to know where the story is going though, just an extension of a Sunday foible, or really a significant development, which will have ripples affecting so many other interconnected stories? I think the ripple effect actually, and I am looking forward to its slow and steady progress.
If we needed any proof that someone was READY to get into business by creating unique drinks that may require a little tweaking . . . as Jon Taft would say, “Gotta gettem in the door!”
Maybe it needs vodka? Not many patrons there. Slow time is when bartenders get creative. We had one that was a genius at creating new and tasty drinks. There were several of us game to try them, although I prefer white wine! ;-o
All this needs to do is “go viral” and some “influencer” convinces people that Sucker Punch is the latest, greatest thing, and all of The Fuse’s financial woes are over! Lines of hipsters going out the door!
that wasn’t just a splash of lemon, more like a glug glug (not unlike that whole bottle of pepper which Luann dumped into her stew). looks like we ’re all living and learning.
Crushed lime lollipops? Well I did have a drink once with Jose Cuervo, something else and gummy bears in it. I’m not a mixed drink guy (straight vodka) but I asked for another one. Can’t resist gummy bears.
Some people may find this funny, but Frank is having a serious reaction to the citric acid – it’s a condition called “Acidosis” and it affect middle-aged folks when presented with too much lemon juice. We should all be concerned for Frank!

If she’s going to spend the rest of the week trying drinks out on her husband, she’d better call him a ride home.
Pointspread almost 5 years ago
So Frank, will you be having another?
Rhetorical_Question almost 5 years ago
Maybe Frank is ready for a stronger drink that will offset a “tart” concoction.
jea9hrkr almost 5 years ago
Maybe she should add a little sugar.

Love how Frank is portrayed in the last frame! It’s not often Greg gives in to outright silliness in his drawing!
Airman almost 5 years ago
I don’t know where this is going. Time to sit back and enjoy the ride. No brawls, please.
wiatr almost 5 years ago
Trust me, a little lemon goes a long way.

I like how his hair stood up in panel 3 !!!!

A splash is a lil bit, looks like you emptied the bottle. That’s not a punch, that’s an uppercut.
Brdshtt Premium Member almost 5 years ago
Actually, that is embalming fluid. Frank looks like the living dead in the last panel.
Need coffee almost 5 years ago
Oops. Too much lemon.
Keep experimenting, though. Can’t make it into the Bartender’s Guide without some early mistakes.

By the way, did Nancy take the Serve It Right course? Legal requirement in these parts.

So about Luann and Jack…

Better to have Frank as the taste tester, rather than an unsuspecting patron.

Panel 3: Frank looks like someone caught under the mistletoe with Bernice.

Nancy is looking real hot lately. And I have no idea why I am seeing her this way.Or is it the older hot woman at the bar thing going on.

No question. G&K are not done milking this “Pru’s Leaving” arc.
Today begins my experiment: Reading Luann and Alley Oop (TrucutĂş) in Spanish.
If it’s not going to be fun, at least it can be educational!
Now, if I can find someone doing strips in German!
Cheapskate0 almost 5 years ago
Strangely enough, in that last panel, Frank kind of reminds of me Patrick Stewart (when he’s not on Star Trek)!

When you’re new job requires working with a bunch of drunks, and it’s a “blast”, doesn’t say much for your old job.

All good bartenders need to know jokes, so:
Hey, Nancy! Have you heard this one?
Julius Caesar walks into a bar and says, “I’ll have a Martinus.”
The bartender gives him a puzzled look and asks, “Don’t you mean a Martini?”
“Look,” Caesar replies, “If I wanted a double, I’d have asked for it!” Ba Dum Tssss…
