I suppose it’s better than having a “6’” arrow pointing down into the ground, though I’m sure there are those who will debate that.

European tourist destinations like Portugal have all the social distancing sorted on the beaches with traffic lights to tell people when the place is full.

The idiots who did not practice social distancing and follow other pandemic warnings are now becoming guests of the local ICU. Google: covid-19 Arkansas memorial day weekend

However thoughtful one person is about wearing masks and being careful, there are a dozen who do neither. I see that every two weeks at the grocery or any place I shop. It will be hard to image the stats that will show up following any political convention. The graph very likely will resemble a seismographic reading of a category 7 earthquake. The new normal will be a long time coming.

Isn’t this the part of the movie where the right wingers, sure of their own safety and disgruntled by their societies’ scientific community, stand in front of the tidal wave/pandemic/zombie apocalypse and get wiped out?

Well, sooner or later it will happen. Only rich people will have the time and resources to enjoy themselves. The ‘huddled masses’, will have to isolate themselves.

6 feet is not enough if there is a breeze. Particles from your breath can travel 18-20 feet in a good breeze

Only in the United States do people have such an aversion to wearing protective masks, hand washing and hand sanitizing, and keeping social distancing.

The rest of the world seems to have embraced it without gripping because they know these things are helping to keep them well.

Say a lot about the U.S. doesn’t it?

My mom owned a beach home on our coast, and I still keep up with the people who took care of it and rented it to tourists. Things are brutal. People can’t or won’t come, even though the beaches are almost never crowded. Meanwhile, the state legislator decided it would be perfect to move back the opening of schools so most of August won’t have families coming. And it’s going to be a brutal hurricane season. Just glorious.

unfortunately a lot of beaches on the news lately have shown people NOT self-distancing,letting their guard down, returning to their previous normal.

Has anyone else noticed the idiotic symbol for distancing that has appeared on various city/community signs? It’s a square with people at each corner and 6’ written inside, but the arrows show diagonal lines around the 6’, indicating that everyone is 6’ from the opposite corner, yet only about 4’ from the other two corners.

Reminds of TV coverage of gyms marking off 6’ circles for exercise, completely ignoring the fact that loud talking or other heavy breathing casts the virus-laden particles out to 10’.

I’d been wondering about social distancing in open spaces. Six feet is the recommendation. But does that include space for those people passing between stationary bodies?

I’ve seen several people at the beach who could easily compete for “highest” bidder. But most of them wouldn’t bother with bidding.

15 Foot square for Couples, and 20 Feet for a family of 4.
