I guess those Viking boats didn’t burn entirely, if they found remnants of board games.

Just imagine: Pauran Layne having 70 book signings all on the same day in the same location.

What a waste of a perfectly good boat. Why not just a small simple raft, & light it on fire?

If one of those board games was Monopoly, now we know how the fire started.

couldn’t list any of the pen names? Paine adopted dozens of pseudonyms including Mark Carrel, John Kilgore, Clay Allen, A. A. Andrews, Dennis Archer, John Armour, Carter Ashby, Harry Beck, Will Benton, Frank Bosworth, Concho Bradley, Claude Cassady, Clint Custer, James Glenn, Will Houston, Troy Howard, Cliff Ketchum, Clint O’Conner, Jim Slaughter and Buck Standish among others

So the boats burnt, but the contents “survived”? I understand the boats would burn down to the waterline so below that would remain. I assume the board games were not made of boards.

I would bet that the predominant board game found was Hnefatafl. It’s really a great strategic game…
