Careful, Brewster, you’re showing your lack of intelligence.

Right. Port has the same number of letters as “left”.

Brewster reminds me of the captain of Avenue Five on HBO. Played brilliantly by Hugh Laurie, who gets to return to his comedy days.

    Confusion to our enemies.

They look at our glorious Captain djt and think, “This is obviously a trick. Who’s really in charge?”

You can’t stick your arm out the window and make a hand signal in space.

Someone once asked Lord Nelson the difference between port and starboard. Nelson replied it depended on which way the Captain was facing.

So, Brewster is like Hugh Laurie in ‘Avenue A’ only (much) funnier?

First, by mentioning the starboard thrusters, he’s basically telling them that R.U. Sirius is a space ship. Second, The R.U Sirius is space station, not a space ship. It doesn’t make turns.

So many people have absolutely no idea of the differences of “Left-Right” and “Port-Starboard.” “Left-Right” are indications of directions; “Port-Starboard” are indications of positions.

Look at it this way: Suppose you an a mechanic was standing in front of your car facing towards the hood. If a mechanic were to ask you which tire on your car was defective, if you said “Front left tire” can you and the mechanic be sure you’re indicating the same tire? You may mean “The front tire to the left of where I sit while I drive.” while the mechanic may think you mean “The front left tire relative to where we stand in front of the car.” However, if you responded “Front driver side (Port) tire” (or “Front passenger side (Starboard) tire”) there (should) be no ambiguity no matter which side of the car you are standing.

Brewster, everyone knows the Starboard side is the one with the Klingons on it.
