I was watching an interview on CNBC the other day with a three-piece suited financial wizard. So, what was hanging on the wall behind him? Two Grateful Dead posters. Cool.

They always pick the best spot. Or have their latest book behind them. 8^ \

Does anyone feel like A&J is different the last few days? Janis has never called Arlo “babe”. And Janis’ line yesterday, “you’re lucky I can’t resist you” with a worried expression on her face seemed … off. On Monday, with her getting the bottle of wine, her expression seemed worried there, too (and the drawing of Arlo looked really strange).

Is Jimmy taking a few days off? Is there someone else writing and drawing this?

Did not expect that!

In this computer age of e-Books and on-line everything I’m amazed at how many people have libraries in their den. And most with their own book prominently displayed, fake haphazardly, with the full face at the camera. If it was me I’d have to scramble. All I’ve authored is on message boards, and I doubt my Playboy and Mad Magazine collections would impress anyone.

Just press pause, Janis. No need to rush.

Priorities-we all have them.

Now, that’s how to handle politics.

Between conflicting views on Covid-19, rioting, and the latest body count in Chicago, NYC, etc., I pretty much listen to the Oldies station on the radio while I do constructive things.

You may actually learn something from this, you two!

I have at times, especially when the interview gets tedious, found myself evaluating the home scene. Cool kitchen! —- Really? Pink living room furniture? —-And with a bit of OCD, wishing someone would close that cabinet door back there and then straighten the cushion.

IF I did one of those daily briefings I would buy a series of realistic backdrops or get a screen and projector—-

Don’t know if the fad has ended but they used to put their books on shelves with the binder facing inward. All you saw was the pages of white exposed

It’s a Zoom background Janis; you can’t redo your den to look like the Mos Eisley cantina!

I have decided that the backgrounds have to be carefully staged; they may or may not actually own the books you’re seeing, but said books were specifically placed for the shooting, to present an image.

If they were staging my office for a shoot, I’d have them move most of the history books out and replace them with the complete works of Kurt Vonnegut, J.R.R. Tolkien, Hunter S. Thompson, Douglas Adams, Christopher Moore, Tim Dorsey, and Jasper Fforde (all of which I have read, but not all of which I own, liking the price at the public library better…….).

I am driven crazy by all the books used for background. Being a book lover and avid reader, I find myself tilting my head sideways and trying to read the titles on the spines of books rather than paying attention to the people talking…of course, that’s not all bad, either!

Ought to start calling it “olds,” since it’s all the same, old thing, day, after day.

This is one of the best comics of the Covid era.
