1: (Dreaming / Drugging) You can ignore reality and just believe whatever makes you happy. The downside is, of course, that reality is… well… real and it will eventually intrude.
2: (Adapting / Making do) You can adapt to reality as it is, telling yourself that all is for the best in this best of all possible worlds. The downside is that, unless you are really lucky, nothing will ever get better.
3: (Growing up / Building) You can get to work fixing what’s wrong, and build toward a world that meets your needs appropriately. The downside is that you may have to coordinate with people who have other desires; and you WILL have to put in a lot of effort.
There’s a reason I mentioned them in this order, because IMO they start with the worst and end with the best options. Though of course, we all do some of each…
I have cut down on my news intake considerably, if only for my own sanity. I still want to know what’s going on, but I just get on with my day and keep an eye out for good news about Covid, and things in general. If you just binge too long on gloom and doom media, you don’t even wanna get up! As long as “record deaths” get far more clicks than “vaccines show promise”, I’m going to continue to be choosy over how I get my information.
Y’ever see the movie “Zulu”? Toward the middle, they are evacuating the post, and the hysterical preacher is being bundled into the buggy. He sticks his head out the back window.
Much news (and many posters) bring to mind that line.
Check with Adam Schiff. His mind is both misinformed and uninformed. HE said that all the violence in Portland, Chicago, Minneapolis, etc is all a myth.
Last night’s “The Antenna Guy,” one of my Youtube subscriptions, began with a picture of a Covid-19 over his right shoulder and saying, “During this time of recent events” which term is also used by my fun lawyer’s subscription. Come on Youtube, check out Psalm 118:24!
Given the fact that most of what is being published these day has gone beyond mis-information and is now in the realm of mal-information, Pig doesn’t have a bad approach.

There are three ways to increase your happiness:
1: (Dreaming / Drugging) You can ignore reality and just believe whatever makes you happy. The downside is, of course, that reality is… well… real and it will eventually intrude.
2: (Adapting / Making do) You can adapt to reality as it is, telling yourself that all is for the best in this best of all possible worlds. The downside is that, unless you are really lucky, nothing will ever get better.

It’s ok to be well informed, but cable news shouldn’t be watched all day. Too much opinion and spin.

Pig is one of many millions of others. They say that ignorance is bliss which is probably why there are so many happy people in the world.

It is absolutely an option! No one needs to watch the news 24 hours a day. Get away from the news!
