Wow. Yeah, because if you DO agree with Payne’s masters, you don’t need to say anything… except “yessa masah”; and if you DON’T agree with them, then you should just shuddup and play on (all the while saying “yessa massah”).
A trumpcultist wrote a letter to the editor about pro sports players standing up for social justice. He said it was wrong and they shouldn’t do it. I wonder if he noticed the irony of him using a public forum to bash their free speech.
When they play the “right to life” card, you know they don’t have anything of value to stand on. It’s because they really don’t care either. It’s just noise.
Is there a difference between BLM and the anti—abortion groups? Well, the players taking a knee were protesting dangers to their own lives, their own treatment, that of their friends and family. Ruined lives all around in many cases. Living in constant fear and stress, simply for existing. A situation based on social prejudices which had become institutionalized as systemic racism. Anti-abortionists are not protesting their own treatment, nor that of friends and family… a person who decides NOT to abort is not forced to by the state, is not vilified by those around her, and it is not institutionalized nor systemic. Same for those who do abort – it is not forced nor state controlled. It is based solely on the right of a person (the woman) to make her own decision as to what is best for her, her body and her (and perhaps her family) situation. However, what the anti-abrotionists are asking for is state-control of people’s bodies and situations. If you are raped and become pregnant? Too bad – the state would insist you carry a baby to term. This is madness. Mostly from people who also scream about too much “big government”. So not only is it madness but it is hypocritical as well!
Well, let’s face it. If there were more abortions, there would be fewer unarmed young black men for the police to gun down, choke to death, or grow up into trouble-making politicians or targets for Klan-like vigilantes. (The NRA, your local Chapter of the Ku Klux Klan, and Right-To-Life approved this message.) /s
Conservatives are not against abortion because it kills embryos but because it allows women to have sex for pleasure and escape the punishment of having to have a baby.It is the same reason they support birth control not being covered by insurance. Then when the women does have the the “gift from God” and is poor she is disdained by conservatives who want to give as little aid as possible to provide for the child.
Black_LIves_Matter is about honoring a religious commitment to treat everyone as their brother. When the world’s population reaches a point where we can no longer replenish the resources that we consume, and people die from hunger and disease caused by want, we really must think carefully how we interpret scripture. The fertility rate has dropped in the US … perhaps sending us a message that our priorities are wrong and we must start caring for each other.
It’s really awful that NOT ALL religions — while they all oppose abortion — do not take the hard line that SOME religions do. Infanticide was common in the old testament, implied as a test for fidelity in the new testament, and hypocritical when there is no way to deliver the nurturing to support all the newborns until they can fend for themselves. To defend the rights of the rapist over the life of the mother sounds like a very twisted sense of morality.
I would find with athletes being outspoken on issues if they focused on just playing the game when it’s time for that. And if they’re actions overall reflected their beliefs. (I know this will get replies; go ahead.)
Meanwhile strips with new content everyday are being eliminated. Frog Applause, Graffiti, Health Matters, World of Wonder, Uncle Art’s Fun Page and others. But the crap like this stays on.
Don’t worry, rich people like Trump and McConnell and Pence will always be able to send their little “inconveniences” to countries where abortions are legal to take care of their “problems.”
Just as making drugs illegal didn’t end drug use, making abortion illegal won’t end abortions. Americans (christians) are the most ignorant people in the world. Every child born is an atheists. Mommie and daddy start the brainwashing early.
I don’t want to see or hear their opinions during games. Period. Not from the left, not from the right.
Be it amateur, semi-pro (sorry, college) or top tier pro sports, politics should never be a part of the equation. Save it for your own time, not mine.
Athletic competition is one of the few venues where ability determines the outcomes. Race does not matter. Political opinion does not matter. Athletes should not sully the sport with partisan issues. Conversely, what they do and say outside of the stadium should have no bearing on how they are treated on the field.
Is that why Republican Senator, Tim Scott, also agrees that Black Lives Matter? This is NOT a political issue. It is about their LIVES! Just saying, makes no sense to call it political when people on both sides can agree.

Pro “lifers” want to make sure that baby is born, then abandon it like unwanted puppies on the side of the road.
